Q. Tell me what that was like standing over that putt to secure the Solheim Cup.
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, I didn't know it was to win. I thought Carlota's match was for it to win. But it was probably only this long (indicating), but it felt a lot longer.
Q. Tell me how important it was for you to go out and do your job today because it hadn't been a great week to this point.
LOTTIE WOAD: Yeah, it was really important. I mean, I was pretty disappointed. Felt like I was playing good golf and not getting the points and felt like I was kind of letting everyone down. Then the captains kind of spoke to me and said, you know, the stat that I was third on birdies, so I was playing good golf and just had to trust that, and that's golf sometimes. Ends up I got the winning putt.
Q. As you were coming down the stretch, you said that you didn't know it was coming to this moment, but were you getting a sense about how important this was?
LOTTIE WOAD: I knew it was mine or Carlotta's match. And when Auston made those three birdies in a row that was great golf from her and I just had to try and stay steady and the moment on 16 was a key one, definitely.
Q. How quickly did you realize that that was the putt?
LOTTIE WOAD: Not until after, but I knew it was to win my match.
