Angela Stanford

TV Interview

Q. Angela, there has to be a winning captain and there has to be a losing captain in a situation like this. I'm sure you're bitterly disappointed, but what do you take from this week?

ANGELA STANFORD: Well, I want Rose to go get this point. You know, and you hear people say over and over and over how difficult it is, and it really is. You know, I think that we did a lot of things right leading up to it, and I know we did. They fought hard, and we seemed to always be on the same page. They, look, the Europeans played great today, and that's the way it goes. So their backs were against the wall, they had nothing to lose, and that's exactly what they did, they came out and played well, so good for them.

Q. Would there be anything that you would have done differently when you look back over the way it played out today?

ANGELA STANFORD: It's probably too early to say. I mean, I haven't really processed everything so far. But right now I mean, no, that's not who I am. I don't, I try not to have regrets. I believed in all 12, so, you know, I probably need to think about that some more.

Q. You got a huge amount of respect in this game from your career and the way you've led the United States. Are you hungry to come back and try this again in a couple of years and get the win?

ANGELA STANFORD: Well, we have a pretty good pipeline. There are a lot of captains in line on the American side, a lot of good ones coming. So, yeah, I think we have a lot lined up ready to go.
