Quick Quotes

Q. Welcome to the third day here at the BMW Ladies Championship. Just overall, how are you feeling after this third round?

HEE YOUNG PARK: I'm actually feeling really good about this round because I think I have a better score than I had expected earlier on. And I'm feeling especially good because I rounded it all off with a really great putt.

Q. You had five birdies on your back nine there. What was working so well as you closed out your round?

HEE YOUNG PARK: So actually this week is the first week my husband is my caddie. And so I have little concern there, but I think what we worked on over the past few weeks really worked because we really focused on my short putts.

And on the course we found we were in situations like we were when we practiced where there were no lies, it was a pretty straightforward putt. And I think it was really nice to be able to apply what we've practiced in terms of putting on the course. And I think that's probably why I did so well in the final nine.

Q. You said yesterday that your husband was on the bag. How would you grade his performance, and how excited were you to be able to have this experience with him this week?

HEE YOUNG PARK: I have to say at first I was a little worried because it is the first time. And although he's an avid golf lover, he has never been a professional caddie.

But I think he was really good at picking up on little signals. So when I got a little tight and nervous, he would know just when to hand the water to me. And also based on our experience in the first round, I think he was able to pinpoint when he needed to check the yardage book or the green book and also check the pin location.

So I think he was actually a great assistant, and I think that I was able to remain comfortable on the course thanks to him.

Q. And what is his regular job, as I would say?

HEE YOUNG PARK: Actually he's in the music entertainment business. So it is completely unrelated to golf.

Q. And not only do you have your husband on the bag, but your sister is also competing in this tournament. Have you guys been able to see each other at all during this experience, and what's that like for you? When's the last time you both were in the same tournament?

HEE YOUNG PARK: So actually about a month ago at a KLPGA event for the first time since we turned professional, we were in the same pairing. So this is the first time in maybe one or two months since then we're competing in the same competition.

I'm meeting her before and after the rounds, shortly. And actually I haven't been able to practice a lot because I have a bad wrist. And so I was a little bit worried. But before the round today she came over and she kind of looked over some of my striking and my shots. And so I think that mentally that you can feel that support, so that's good.

And, again, we're good competitors, so I think it makes this week all the more fun.
