LPGA International Busan

Hye-Jin Choi

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Hye-Jin Choi. You've put yourself in contention to get that first win on the LPGA Tour. 6-under 66, bogey-free. You had three in a row out there. Walk me through those first three holes.

HYE-JIN CHOI: So I made quite a lot of bogeys in the previous rounds, so going into this third round it was my goal to not do that, and I think I'm pretty satisfied with this third round, that I didn't have any bogeys, and I hope to continue the streak on to tomorrow.

Q. You made three birdies in a row on your back nine. What was working really well on those three holes?

HYE-JIN CHOI: With my putting, initially it kind of didn't really go along with the line, and so I kind of thought about it, and I noticed that the ball was a little too to my left. So I tried to place it a little to my right, and I think that worked.

Q. Heading into tomorrow, winning here in particular as a member of the LPGA, what would that mean?

HYE-JIN CHOI: So I can't really imagine, but it would obviously be awesome, and it would really make me happy to win here in Korea, but at the same time we have two more events left, and of course I'd be extremely happy, but then I would have to focus on the upcoming events, as well.

Q. You've won a lot in your time as a professional golfer. You're no stranger to this position, being a couple back and chasing. What's your mindset heading into tomorrow?

HYE-JIN CHOI: Looking back on my wins and when I didn't win, I noticed that when I really go for it and when I really wanted too bad, that's when I don't win. Rather when I focus on one part of my game and I try to play calmly, that's when I usually have really good results. Going into tomorrow I'm trying to keep my mind simple, and perhaps that'll make it.
