Lindy Duncan

Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: We are joined by current leader, Lindy Duncan.

Q. So bogey in this round and eight birdies. You had three consecutive birdies. What were your feelings and how about the wind impact your game?

LINDY DUNCAN: Yeah, definitely the wind started to pick up the last couple holes so it made the approach shots into the pins a little bit more difficult. But I did a good job of picking up on the changes of the wind because we played early the back nine and there wasn't much wind.

So we had to adjust while we were out there so we did a good job with that. And I hit my approaches pretty close on the last couple holes. So I had inside 12 feet for birdie on give of my putts.

Q. This is your first time playing in Korea. Is there any reason why this is your first time in Korea, and I wanted to hear about your feelings about the course in Korea and also the gallery and the fans?

LINDY DUNCAN: This is my second time playing in Korea, and I haven't qualified for the event the last couple years, so I would have gladly come if I had gotten into the field. I love Korea. I have many Korean friends. I love Korean food.

And this golf course is not at all what I expected. Didn't really picture the cliffs. The trees remind me a lot of Pebble Beach in California. So that is my favourite place in the world, so this is right up there. I absolutely love it. The views are incredible.

And the golf course is really challenging. There's a couple deceptively hard shots, especially on some of the holes on the back nine, a lot of the greens are elevated to hit a high ball flight to get it to stop. Yeah, I love being here.

Q. So when was your last visit to Korea?

LINDY DUNCAN: 2018.

Q. So I have two questions. So I just want to hear your thoughts on the Korean-style grass, and this golf club is very far from the airport; it's six hours to get here. Do you think the course is worth the individuals it despite the long distance?

LINDY DUNCAN: Definitely to the second question. It's beautiful. It's great to see different parts of Korea and to travel around the country is amazing. I really like being here.

And the first part of the question, the fairways remind me a little bit of the grass in Hawai'i. It's a little bit green in places, and I think because we're so far south, make sure the climate is a bit different than near Seoul.

So the grass can kind of like a tropical kind of feel grass to me, which I like, I'm from South Florida and that's a hot place, as well. It was pretty easy to adjust because we just played in Hawai'i two weeks ago.

Q. So I have two questions. What's your impression about Korean players? We have Ina, Hyo Joo, what do you think they are strengths is and what hole do you think is the most iconic hole?

LINDY DUNCAN: I really like 16. I think that's a really cool tee shot, and then the shot into the green. You could have a putt to the back pin and it looks like you're putting into the water. So I really like 16.

And then the Korean players are amazing. They hit it so far. They are such great putters. I played with a few Koreans last week in Shanghai. I played with Ina and A Lim in the final round. They are so competitive, and they are just such tough players. I love playing with the Korean players.

Q. So this is the south side of Korea and we have great food in the region. Is there any new taste that you have discovered?

LINDY DUNCAN: Nothing new yet but Kimbap is my favorite and I had some yesterday for lunch, and that was awesome. I'm going to dinner tonight with Hyo-Joo, so maybe we're going to have pork belly or some kind of meat. I've had a ton of Korean food. It's one of my favorites.
