THE MODERATOR: We are joined here by leader in the clubhouse, Sei Young Kim. If you have a question, please raise your hand and a microphone will be brought to you.
Q. How did you play with such a great score? What was your general take away from it?
SEI YOUNG KIM: Yes, so this is near my hometown, so I have lots of family, my cousins, a lot of fans. So I had a great start from the first hole and all the way through 18th hole, getting a lot of support. The course is absolutely wonderful. The layout and the conditions of the course were great.
Q. So you're here in five YEARS, getting close to a victory. What are your thoughts on having a course record and low score?
SEI YOUNG KIM: Of course the victory is my aim. It has been a while. I really want to take a challenge. Last year I was getting closer, but hopefully with the support I get in my hometown, I will get nearer to victory.
Q. The 10-under is a tie with your best score. In fact, you missed some putts. I'm sure you weren't that satisfied. What was your turning point?
SEI YOUNG KIM: Excitement from the very first hole and after the birdie, I really thought that I had really good shots. Some putts were missing. But after the eagle putt on the sixth hole, that was pretty much a one putt, and I think that really was a turning point.
Let me walk you through how I went through the sixth hole with the eagle shot. So the tee shot went a bit right. The pin was about 210 meters. With my front wedge, it's only about 180 meters, and I was wondering whether I should go with 5-wood or a hybrid 24 but with the wind coming from the back, I went hybrid. I hit hard and the carry went longer than I expected, and the putt distance on the green was about seven meters.
Q. So on the 15th hole, you got a birdie die. It was a pretty long distance, and with the tee shot on the back, what's your thought on that?
SEI YOUNG KIM: On that hole, yes, there was a bit of wind coming from the front, and because it was placed on the front, I think that was an intention by the LPGA. But with a strong wind like today, it could have been difficult if I go in with a hybrid, for example.
Q. There's a birdie chance on the 17th hole, and you made the birdie right after that. Did you know, were you aware of the score that you were having?
SEI YOUNG KIM: I knew the wind was going to get stronger, and yes, it was a disappointment on the 17th hole. If the tee was a bit front, I could have made it with two on with a 6-iron but the wind was getting stronger. I was very cost confident with my bunker shot but it was a pity I couldn't put it near to the hole. I know these are ocean-side holes where I heard there is stronger wind later in the afternoon. With the back nine, all the holes are next to the ocean.
So it's great to have the strong wind coming. I think the feeling is similar to what we had in the AIG, so I was trying to be reminded of the play I did in Wales.
Q. You said you're very eager to win, and you really want to do that in front of your family. How eager are you to win?
SEI YOUNG KIM: Absolutely, yeah, I have desires to get the victory in front of my family, and especially with the energy and the vibe and the support from my family, it would be my desire to win. This is something I can't achieve on my own, I also need luck but I hope that I can achieve that with the support I'm getting from my friends and family.
