Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: We are joined here at the BMW Ladies Championship after Round 2 by Hye-Jin Choi. If you have a question, please raise your hand.

Q. There's a lot of wind from the beginning. Did you have any struggle with your play?

HYE JIN CHOI: Yes, there was wind at the beginning but towards the end of the holes, there was less wind. So there wasn't as much wind as in the beginning.

Q. What went well for your play and what are your plans for tomorrow?

HYE JIN CHOI: Overall the play was very good. Yesterday, although I had some good shots, there were some missed putts. And today I had good long shots and good putts. So that went well.

Q. You had consecutive five birdies from the eighth hole. Was there any turning point? And there's an article about you that you're currently the highest earning player without a victory. So are you aware of this record?

HYE JIN CHOI: Yes, with the five straight birdies, I thought play well went. There were some birdie chance on the front nine but I tried to change my position and get comfortable. Since then many balls went into the hole.

Yes, I saw the article that I earned the highest prize money without having a victory, and knowing that, I am very desperate for a victory and yearning for a victory.

On the other hand, it is saying that I'm earning money, and of course it would be a lot better if I had a victory. So I always aim to gain the victory and work hard for that.

Q. Were there any significant holes in the back nine that could have affected your play overall?

HYE JIN CHOI: Definitely the five consecutive birdies that I have made the holes were very significant. In my recent play, I missed some putts less than four meters and there were chances or times where the speed wasn't good or the lie wasn't good.

Also on the last two holes, it was pretty close, but I missed some birdie chances. I hope that does not happen tomorrow. When I have chances, I hope to take advantage.

Q. Well done today. We just said that you have earned the most prize money without a victory. You have played more than a hundred tournaments, but the fact that you don't have any victory, and you did go to a playoff and there were some hurdles, but what do you think is the very last remaining challenge that you need to get over to reach that victory, what is the really missing part?

HYE JIN CHOI: Well, if I knew that answer, I would have made my efforts to make the win. But since I don't know the answer, I'm working my way towards it.

There are times when I fear I'm lost when conditions aren't that good or my performance isn't that good, and golf is a sport that you can't do well every day. It's very difficult to set a standard to it.

So I think that's something I want to work on.

Q. Lindy said that you were going to have dinner with her yesterday. How did that go?

HYE JIN CHOI: Yes, we had a lot of pork barbecue yesterday, not just with Lindy but a few other Japanese players. There were a lot of people, so we didn't really have too much time to talk because we had to do the barbecuing ourselves.

But talking to Lindy, she's a veteran player, already nine years, and we talked a lot about the Tour and I wanted to introduce Korean food to the players.

Q. We have a lot of galleries. Do you think the course is one of the most beautiful courses in Korea?

HYE JIN CHOI: Definitely it is. It's absolutely beautiful. It's not links-style golf course a usual golf course that we have in Korea, and also many other players are saying that it's definitely a beautiful golf course.
