THE MODERATOR: We welcome our 2026 BMW Ladies Championship. Can you just talk to us, what does it mean to get a win on the LPGA.
YURI YOSHIDA: It's a special moment for me, and actually, I was nervous. But at this moment, I'm really happy.
THE MODERATOR: It was have close coming down the last few holes. What were your nerves like over those last four or five holes?
YURI YOSHIDA: 17, the bunker shot was amazing. I hit pitching wedge. I never tried that, like 48 yards to the pin. But I can't hit again.
THE MODERATOR: What gave you the confidence to hit that shot in that moment.
YURI YOSHIDA: Actually, I didn't have confidence. But I thought, just hit, just hit, it's the perfect distance. It was perfect, yeah.
THE MODERATOR: After your round, you had a bunch of the Japanese players and friends out there supporting you. What does it mean to have their support?
YURI YOSHIDA: Yeah, we play JLPGA before. Everybody, good players. I'm really happy to be on 18th green. I really want to get more wins.
Q. For some of the Korean fans. They may not be familiar and they may not know you well, so can you sort of share your strengths, what you're good at, especially in golf, and what your golf style is?
YURI YOSHIDA: So I play golf not smiling, I think. But off the course, I'm always smiling. So if you can follow my Instagram, I'm really so happy.
Q. So do you have a Korean player that you are close to? And this is your first win on the LPGA Tour. How important will this golf course be to you in your life?
YURI YOSHIDA: I went to Korea so many times to play golf, and I love Korea. I love the food. I love the people. I have many Korean players, and we are going out together because I play on the national team. So my first win in Korea, it's big. It's significant for me because Japanese, we love Korea.
Q. So I understand all four rounds, you played with KLPGA players, and so since you've played with KLPGA players before, can you tell us about what you felt or what you thought about their game?
YURI YOSHIDA: Everybody played high-level golf I think. So I was surprised, everybody hit long. Everybody is working hard every day. I want to try and stay on pace.
Q. So in 2023, you won and it was very rainy then, too, and coincidentally, Jin-Hye was three strokes behind you. So do you think you are a strong player in the rain, and did what you learned then, did you use that or did that help you on the course this event?
YURI YOSHIDA: That tournament was in really hard conditions, too, like this, I think more windy than rain. But when I hit several shot -- like this week, probably I can focus on carry, not roll. So I could make birdie chance.
