Q. All right, here with Carlota Ciganda after the second round of the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. 1-under today. Can you talk about what stood out in your game for you?
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Yeah, started very good with two birdies on the first two holes; birdied 10 and 11.
And then played solid golf the first nine holes. I hit a bad driver on 16 that I had to take a drop and make a double, but good comeback on 18 and one, two birdies there.
And then, yeah, I thought it was windy today, tougher conditions, I so thought anything under par was a good score in the afternoon.
Yeah, happy with the result, and I think I'm in a good position coming into the weekend.
Q. I was going to ask, how do you feel like the course played differently in the afternoon today?
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Yeah, I think yesterday there wasn't as much wind in the morning, so I think it's easier to, yeah, get those numbers. I think the greens are pretty receptive so if you hit your number it's easier to make birdies.
Today was a lot of wind, so I feel just a little harder. Yeah, I think it's a fun course. I'm excited for the weekend.
Q. How would you also compare the back nine to the front nine?
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Back nine to...
Q. A little bit more wind on some holes?
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Similar, because once you get to three, four, and then 14, 15, those holes close to the ocean you get pretty windy. I think you have some holes windy and, some not, but I will say pretty similar.
Q. You mentioned too being in a good position going into the weekend. What do you do after today's round to get ready for the weekend?
CARLOTA CIGANDA: Yeah, just go back to the hotel, maybe go for a swim, get a treatment, have a nice dinner, and hopefully good sleep, good rest and ready for tomorrow.
Q. Seeing the score right now, 9-under is leading. Are you shocked by that? Is that fitting with this course?
CARLOTA CIGANDA: It's pretty fitting because yesterday wasn't as windy. Nelly is out there and she's been playing great golf so it doesn't surprise me.
Yeah, I think you can go low on this course if you play good on the toughest holes and then take advantage of the holes they have downwind, par-5s. Yeah, I think it's good.
Q. How do you approach par-5s out here? Seems like there are about three that are pretty gettable.
CARLOTA CIGANDA: I haven't been making many birdies. Yeah, five is gettable. The wind is down so that's -- you can reach for sure.
Seven I was just short of the green, but that's a tougher one.
Then on the back you have 13 into the wind. It's I'll say tricky.
And 18 for sure. Yeah, 18 is almost a par-4 with the downwind.
Yeah, I think if you shoot, yeah, 2-, 3-under a day, it's very good.
