Q. Here with Yu after the second round of the Mexico Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. 6-under today. Best round of the day so far. I don't know if you knew that.
YU LIU: I didn't know that.
Q. Can you talk about how you played from your perspective?
YU LIU: Yeah, I definitely finished on a high. Eagled the last hole, which felt really good, because yesterday I went bogey, bogey to end my round. I think that gave me some motivation going forward.
Today tee to green, I think it's a challenging golf course tee to green, so got to be really on top of your game. So thankfully today I think I did a pretty good game out there.
Just really happy of how my round went.
Q. Talk about 18 as well. What led to the eagle?
YU LIU: Yeah, it was blowing pretty hard downwind. If anything, it's a little easier to create straighter shots, so I just hit my 3-wood off the tee and I had like soft 4-hybrid into the green and hit it to about seven feet and made the putt.
Q. And then can you also talk about number nine? We noticed that is a bit of a challenging hole out here over the past couple days. I don't know what your perspective is on it.
YU LIU: Oh, yeah.
Q. Why you do think it's so difficult?
YU LIU: Tee shot, you're playing against a left-to-right sidewind it's originally -- like itself it's a pretty long par-4 for us, and then there is like bunkers on both sides for the landing area off the tee. So you got to hit a good tee shot and then your job is not done.
Yesterday I hit fairway but second shot was very narrow into narrow green with slightly longer shot.
So it was tough hole for sure, yeah.
Q. And this also ties your lowest rounds of the year. I don't know if you remember that from Blue Bay.
YU LIU: Yeah.
Q. What is it like seeing a score like this right now?
YU LIU: Honestly this course reminds match Blue Bay a lot, especially the grass type and very close to the ocean. It's a very interesting golf course, just like Blue Bay. Every hole is set up very different and it really challenges all parts of your game.
Q. Coming into this week, what were you focusing on most in your game?
YU LIU: Yeah, I think last week I had a pretty disappointing week. I felt like my game was in a good spot but didn't really deliver the way I wanted to.
So really tried to learn from what I could from that, from the second round last week, and I think I'm really glad it paid off, yeah.
Q. And talk about just the travel from Texas to here as well and changing your mindset going from a major week to a resort course, a little bit different change of pace.
YU LIU: Yeah, I wouldn't say the change was as dramatic as most people think. This is a very challenging golf course, too. I didn't really let myself relax or just blend into the vibe because it's, like I said, tee to green really requires you to be on top of your game.
So, yeah.
Q. Have you gone to the pool yet?
YU LIU: Not yet. I will wait until I finish the tournament.
