Quick Quotes

Q. All right, here with Bri Do after the third round of the Maya Open at Mayakoba. Scrappy round today, but put together an even par round. Still very much in contention heading into tomorrow. Can you just talk about just overall how you thought the day went.

BRIANNA DO: You know, I think there are positives. I mean, this is my second time being in a final pairing, and I think I handled myself pretty well.

I was obviously nervous to start and it showed. I made two bogeys in the first four holes I think. But I learned from my previous experience, and I kind of kept my head down and chugged along and got it back to even.

So I'm happy. At the same time, a little disappointed. I wanted to play better. So there is tomorrow.

Q. What kind of resilience does it take? Second time in a final pairing. Nelly, not an easy task.

BRIANNA DO: Yeah.

Q. How proud are you to battle back and get back in contention heading into tomorrow?

BRIANNA DO: Yeah, I'm really proud of myself. I'm proud of what I've done in the last, I don't know, year and a half kind of putting myself in positions where I have a chance to do something, you know.

And so I can't be upset with how I'm playing and how I finished today, but I want to win, and hopefully things go my way a little tomorrow. We'll see what happens.

Q. And then I know only one round today, but anything you learned from the first couple holes you'll really try to focus on into tomorrow?

BRIANNA DO: I think I got a little quick. With the nerves you get a little quick and tentative. So I think tomorrow just mentally calm myself down even though I'm nervous and acknowledge it and accept it and just play golf.

Q. And this is a more fun one. We talked about hole No. 9.

BRIANNA DO: Yeah.

Q. It was all bogeys on No. 9. Today, a birdie.

BRIANNA DO: Yeah.

Q. How good did that feel to get something other than a bogey?

BRIANNA DO: It was incredible. You could see my reaction after I made that 30-footer I think. I mean, it was playing long today. I hit it in the fairway and had 5-wood into that green to 30 feet. It was like, pin's all the way in the back.

So in my head I was like, sweet. Half the equation is done, so making that putt was a cherry on top. I was pretty pumped, so, yeah.
