Q. We are joined by Linn Grant after her final round at the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. Solid performance. Talk about what it is about this place that gets the best out of you.
LINN GRANT: I don't know. I felt like going out today obviously I haven't had the scores leading up to today that I wanted, so I just tried to go out and see it as a day to have a good day kind of.
I don't know, I like it here. It's just nice to come off the course, be able to jump in the pool and enjoy something else than just the hotel room and the golf course.
Q. And then made a lot birdies out there today, but only hit 13 greens looked like on the card. Can you talk about the birdie opportunities out here this week and how important they are to take advantage when you have those opportunities?
LINN GRANT: Yeah, today obviously wind wasn't as breezy as it's been, so my mindset was just to get as many birdies in before the wind kind of blew up.
I don't know. I hit the ball really good today. Even when I was off the greens I was just off and had pretty decent, easy chip shots.
So, yeah, just tried to take advantage of my good feeling today.
Q. Getting kind of into the meat of the season here. A lot of major championships coming up. Do you feel your game is in a good spot right now?
LINN GRANT: No. (Laughter.) I don't know. I feel like I -- at the minute I put a lot of pressure on my game. I don't really go out and enjoy it as much.
So I feel like this season coming up the majors, I'm just going to try to just go out and enjoy it, kind of like I did today, and just see it as an opportunity to play well and do the best that I can.
Q. That was going to be my next question. Was that the mindset heading into today, stop thinking about the swing and just start thinking about playing golf, maybe a better way to put it maybe?
LINN GRANT: Yeah, I think instead of just thinking about the scores and wanting to perform well, thinking that I should play a certain way or score a certain way, I think today I just had to go out and think about staying in the moment and just try to do my best here and now.
Q. Did it help a little bit that you had last year in the back of your head here, just playing well?
LINN GRANT: I don't know. I don't think so because that puts even more pressure. It's like I played so well last year. Why aren't I doing as well? It's hard. It's obviously a balance.
But as you said, leading into kind of the major season coming up, I'm just trying to take that with me from this week and stick to it a little bit.
