Vanderbilt 79, Texas A&M 68
THE MODERATOR: DJ Harvey joins us. Why don't we get some thoughts from you on tonight's game and then we'll jump into questions.
DJ HARVEY: So I thought through and through everybody played really hard. We had the same goal in mind. Nobody came out there selfish, thinking they had to play hero ball to get us to the next round.
Kind of took our foot off the gas through the first half, then couldn't get any defensive stops, came out sluggish in the second half. Then we picked it back up.
I'm super proud of our guys, a lot of people stepped up, bought in. Just one step closer to our goal.
THE MODERATOR: Questions.
Q. This is actually your season high scoring with 17 points. What was working well for you today?
DJ HARVEY: Well, obviously my shot was falling. Thought I was a lot more aggressive, felt more comfortable out there. Coaches have been telling me, and the guys have been telling me, in order for us to reach our goal, I need to start playing the game that they know I'm capable of playing.
My guys keep finding me, letting it flow like coach has been talking about, letting it flow through your hands. I couldn't do it without them, so...
Q. What is it like playing with Scotty? How fun is it? How ready do you have to be for the ball at times? What have you seen in terms of his growth this year?
DJ HARVEY: I've been with him since he was a freshman. The leaps and strides that he's made since freshman year to sophomore year has just been unbelievable. Watching him grow. He deserves everything he's getting. Honor to play with him. Love playing with him.
He can score the ball, but he's a willing passer. You love that in your point guard. You always got to be ready, even when he's not looking at you he's going to find you. It's very fun to play with Scotty. I hope I get to continue playing with him.
THE MODERATOR: Thanks a lot.
DJ HARVEY: Thank you.
