Mississippi - 4, Vanderbilt - 1
TATE KOLWYCK: I'm Tate Kolwyck. I play shortstop, junior. That's it.
Q. Hi, Tate. With three of the top five teams in the country being from the SEC, do you think that playing in such a tough conference could provide you with that experience and advantage going into regionals?
TATE KOLWYCK: Yeah. Definitely playing in the toughest conference, competitive, it teaches you a lot of things. Going forward, jerseys don't mean anything. It's one game at a time, no conferences, who cares about all that. It's just taking care of what's in front of us.
Q. Tate, what went wrong for you guys' offense today?
TATE KOLWYCK: We just didn't piece anything together. We kind of played individual offense. We had two innings where we started something but couldn't get the big hit to get the guys in.
Q. What made their starting pitcher so tough to hit? It seemed like you got a lot of fly balls, but they just didn't go anywhere.
TATE KOLWYCK: He located his off-speed well. He had a plan, and he executed it.
