THE MODERATOR: This is secondary coach D'Anton Lynn. Questions, please.
Q. In this past game when Bradley Roby went out, obviously rough for you guys. What was the thinking to put different people on Devonte Adams?
D'ANTON LYNN: Yeah, our game plan behind that was we didn't want to keep one guy on him the entire time. We wanted to give him different looks, different coverages. We had a combination of Vernon and Phil on him.
During the week when Roby was healthy, it would have been him on him the entire game.
Q. Do you expect to have Bradley back after the bye week?
D'ANTON LYNN: I'm not exactly sure. I spoke to him after the game. He made it sound like it wasn't going to be too serious. I know he's seeing doctors now. I hope we find more stuff out by tomorrow.
Q. What sort of progress does John Reid made from training camp to now? What do you think you need to see from him to eventually get on the field?
D'ANTON LYNN: He's made a lot of progress, especially in a year like this where it's tough without having an off-season. He came straight into the camp with the vets. He had a lot of reps. You saw him grow each and every week.
The thing with him, he takes practice very, very serious. Now that he's on scout teams, he's not one of those guys that take those reps for granted. He continues to grow, work his technique on scout team. It carries over in practice when he has to be with us on defense.
He's working hard now. When his time comes, we're confident in him out there on the football field.
Q. What do you make of Eric Murray's play so far this season? What are the best ways to use him?
D'ANTON LYNN: So we knew he was a versatile player when we got him. We've used him just about every spot so far this year. He's played safety for us. He's played star. He's played money. He's blitzed. He's been in coverage. He's done just about everything.
It's been nice to have a utility guy like that that's a veteran, that's played in games, that's smart, that can fill all those holes we have each week.
Q. How much has the absence of Gareon Conley affected the secondary this season?
D'ANTON LYNN: Not having him out there is huge. To get him mid-season, for him to come in and play how he did this past year, was impressive. We were really looking forward to having an off-season with him, having a camp with him, then seeing if he could take that next step this year.
We haven't been able to get him out there on the football field yet.
Q. When you look at Lonnie, what do you see from his development as a safety? Anthony said you would like to keep him there.
D'ANTON LYNN: I think we switched him there week two. He's gotten better and better each week. He's a guy, he works hard on and off the field. The biggest strides he's made is just his overall communication. When you're out there playing corner, you're locked in on your guy. You receive calls, you don't talk a lot.
When he first made that switch, we had to get him to open his mouth and speak up. Each week he gets more and more confident on the field, knowing the defense, getting on the line, making checks. We're excited about his development.
Q. What have you thought overall about Vernon Hargreaves, the season he's had?
D'ANTON LYNN: He's had a good season. He's made some plays for us. He's been in position to make some plays and hasn't. The thing about him is when he doesn't, he bounces back. He goes out there, he competes. We have a tremendous amount of confidence with him on the outside.
THE MODERATOR: Thanks for the time, coach.
D'ANTON LYNN: Thank you.
