Colts 26, Texans 20
THE MODERATOR: Questions for Grover Stewart.
Q. The way they're moving down the field at the end, at the five or six yard line, was there ever a thought of letting them score? Or was it your approach you were going to just stop them?
JONATHAN TAYLOR: The only thought we had in our mind was got to stop them, we can't let them score. Too late in the game. We got the strong (indiscernible), we one of the top defenses.
Q. How did that last play work out in your eyes?
JONATHAN TAYLOR: I'm just like, man, I'm going to penetrate, try to throw the center back, get back there and mess up the play.
Q. When the ball is a low snap, it gets loose, what went through your mind when you saw the ball kind of out? You had to force it out.
JONATHAN TAYLOR: Yes, I was like, I don't think I can get on it. I'm going to punch it out. I know one of my teammates was going to get it.
Q. Justin Houston is always good. A couple games like this since he's been here where he's just unblockable. What is it like to be near him on the field when he's going off?
JONATHAN TAYLOR: Man, that's a great feeling to be around him while he got the hot hand. 10 years in the league, still doing it. That's a blessing.
Q. How frustrating as a defensive lineman is to face Deshaun Watson, all the abilities he has?
JONATHAN TAYLOR: I mean, man, it's real crazy. He can throw it. He can run. He's quick. Like, you just got to keep going, man. Like the biggest thing was to keep going, to finish, to finish, to get to him.
He can get out of the pocket and run. Like, I was telling the defensive line, I say, Man, that guy got some wheels on him (laughter).
Q. When he does get out of the pocket, you lose containment on him, you can make a good play, he can still get out of there. Is that a loss or did you do your job?
JONATHAN TAYLOR: As long as we get him down, it's an incomplete pass, man. That's a good play for us.
Q. You came into the game averaging giving up eight points in the second half per game. Why do you think you are so consistently good in the second half defensively?
JONATHAN TAYLOR: Man, I believe we be coming out all hyper and everything. Second half, I believe we be settled. We be in our groove then, so... I believe we be more settled the second half.
Q. Obviously it happens quick, but did you think Nick Martin was trying to get to the second level quick and that's what contributed to the snap?
JONATHAN TAYLOR: I believe he was trying to get to me. I just did my stunt, got out of the way, penetrated, so...
Q. A lot of talk about Deshaun Watson. Your quarterback had a pretty good day. How much pain do you think Philip is playing through right now? What have you seen from him the last couple weeks that has helped you guys?
JONATHAN TAYLOR: He a great quarterback, man. Come in on big times, keep the team up, keep the team going. It's great to see him out there working throughout the pain and everything.
Q. Do you know how much pain he's playing through?
JONATHAN TAYLOR: I mean, I don't know how much pain he playing through. I'm pretty sure, like, he getting through it, so...
