Titans 41, Texans 38
Q. Brandin, this is the eighth one-score loss y'all have had this year. What was it like -- what were your emotions when you saw the field goal kicked, hit the upright and then it bounced through?
BRANDIN COOKS: You know, it's part of the game. You think back to some of the things what could you have done better when stuff like that happens. He made a great kick, clutch, just unfortunate because we would love to have another chance.
Q. You may have to take a day or two to think about it because it's a tough loss, but you become the second receiver in history to have 1,000 yards with four different teams, which is quite a feat. Can you offer some thoughts on that?
BRANDIN COOKS: Consistency is the truest and greatest measure of success, so I'm just thankful, blessed to have the opportunity to play with great guys. Just continue to perfect my craft, that's what it's going to be all about and how I can continue to help my team win.
Q. Brandin, the timing and chemistry that you and Deshaun started to build through the end of the year, did you feel like that was on display today, and do you feel like now you and Deshaun are starting to really click and be in sync as you guys go forward for next year?
BRANDIN COOKS: Yeah, like I talk about, I think we just continue to gel every single week, and I feel like there's still room to grow, just little things that we can still get on the same page but be able to display that these last couple years and throughout the year, exciting. He's a special player, and I've just got to continue to learn how he likes his receivers to do things, and hopefully I can continue to do that and we can continue to grow together.
Q. Does it mean anything special to you to be the first Texans receiver to reach 1,000 yards not Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins?
BRANDIN COOKS: I honestly genuinely didn't know that, but it's a blessing.
Q. With the performance that you had today but looking at the other wide receivers, what do you take from this game watching a player like Keke Coutee and the way he performed today, as well?
BRANDIN COOKS: I mean, you talk about all our guys, Keke, Chad, Stevie Mitch when he comes in and the tight ends. I think that confidence, when you continue to make plays like that as a younger player, that confidence grows, and I feel like they're just going to continue to get better, so I'm proud of each and every one of them.
Q. What did you see from Deshaun in terms of growth this season, from the time you met him and first started working with him until now?
BRANDIN COOKS: You know, you talk about a guy that just loves to perfect his craft, I think he's grown every single day, every single game, week in and week out. I mean, I just don't see no slowing down with a guy like him. So from that standpoint you've got to respect him. When you're out of the playoffs, you think of a quarterback, but this guy came out here and continued to fight for this team and this organization, and all you can do is just respect that.
Q. Brandin, what would you say about the game that Tim Kelly called today, especially after the first two possessions you all scored on seven straight?
BRANDIN COOKS: I mean, you talk about TK, not just today, but like I said, the second half of the season, he found his rhythm. He got that confidence, and he continued to grow every single week. Like I told him today, I'm proud of him. Just continue to work and continue to believe in himself, which I think he displayed the second half, and proud of him from that standpoint, from tonight but also just the second half of the season.
