Jaleel Johnson

Press Conference

Houston Texans 26, Green Bay Packers 7

JALEEL JOHNSON: I think it was just a matter of us running to the ball. I know that's what our coaches have been harping on the entire training camp, just running to the ball and giving effort, and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time.

Q. How did you feel with the four-man front?

JALEEL JOHNSON: I think it's helping us pretty well so far. You know, me personally, I'm accustomed to four-man front, so it's not foreign to me. Schematically, I think we're doing a really good job thus far with Coach Lovie's help and everybody else in the defensive room.

Q. Seeing Lopez get sacked -- staying after practice to help them?

JALEEL JOHNSON: Yeah, that's a credit to Roy as a young guy. To watch him every day perfect his craft, you know, it's kind of exciting me as a veteran, being able to watch a young guy come in and work every single day and stay after and ask questions. I think Roy's sack tonight was all due to him and his preparation through our training camp.

Q. After the preseason game, rotating in, everyone seemed to get pressure. Was that an indication of how well this could work?

JALEEL JOHNSON: I think so. Again, it's just a matter of us playing hard. I mean, I don't think it's anything special. I think it's just, you know, just us going out there and doing our thing and just playing hard.

Q. At the end of the preseason, some tough decisions. Seems like the D-Line could be among the tougher decisions. Does that speak to the quality?

JALEEL JOHNSON: Can you say that one more time.

Q. The tough decisions, having to cut down -- is that the overall quality that there will be tough decisions?

JALEEL JOHNSON: I'm not really worried about what's going to happen towards the end of preseason. I'm just focused on playing my best football and making sure I'm a good teammate and doing what I need to do to help those guys win. It's not an easy preseason. We have to work every single day, so my mind is not really on the tough decisions, and that's probably the guys up front in the front office. I'm just focused on helping these guys win.

Q. The linebackers, what have you seen --

JALEEL JOHNSON: I think Coach King is doing an outstanding job, just him knowing where linebackers fit, that helps us a lot. He knows this offense very well. He's good with giving us formations and break downs and things like that. So I think coach King brings -- his presence in that room is actually -- it's well needed, and I think our play tonight up front all due to coach King and his teachings and things like that.
