Patriots 25, Texans 22
DAVID WILLIAMS: Hats off to the guys and how much they prepared, not only this week but throughout the year and off-season, so hats off for them. You know, and No. 10, man, he's a tough son of a gun. So hats off to him, too. It was a great team win. That's what we needed.
Q. What was the week like? What were you focussing on to get through this and get through this with the line you had?
DAVID WILLIAMS: Just get better it. Was just a normal week of practice. You know, we didn't do anything special or change anything. Believed in our process and just went out there and worked. So like I said, proud of how everyone responded to some adversity and you know, I've taken a lot of criticism, rightfully so, and thought we did a better job today and just have to keep building on that.
Q. No. 10, being a tough son of a gun, what makes you say that?
DAVID WILLIAMS: I mean, quarterbacks, toughness maybe isn't on display. Like they are not going around hitting people, right. But the kid stands in there. He makes throws. He takes hits. He's never negative. Especially after some of our performances here of late. But he stands in there. He's positive. He's ready to go. He has our back and you know, you get to play for a guy like that, that's a great opportunity and shows a lot of poise from a guy like that.
Q. Did you notice guys getting down at all when it was 22-9 in the second half?
DAVID WILLIAMS: You know, we're obviously frustrated. I think rightfully so. We did some things to hurt ourselves, but you know, just had to keep playing. 60 minutes of football, played in enough of these to know that. So I thought it was a great -- defense really came through in the second half, special teams, blocked punt was huge. Great team win.
Q. Whenever you use the word adversity, how much belief is there that Mac is --
DAVID WILLIAMS: I've said that every week just how much we believe in him. You know, he's a great player. Great guy. You know, just the poise you've seen out of him these first four weeks, I can't imagine. What a great win for him. What a great win for this football team when we needed it.
Q. What was it like in the huddle on the last drive?
DAVID WILLIAMS: It felt like we got the run game going a little bit. I mean, you know, kind of up and down in the run game so far and then felt like we really were able to impose a little bit. Chew up some clock. I don't know how much time we chewed up there at the end but that's a great drive. You know, great job by our running backs, taking care of the ball, being tough, physical. You know, it was a good drive.
