Patriots 25, Texans 22
Q. What's the feeling?
NICK FOLK: It was a great team win. Every phase played a big part in it. Good to get back in the win column. Got to keep moving forward from here. Big one next week. So take the corrections tomorrow and get ready to go.
Q. Five games in, you've got a long career. Do you ever remember a year where you've been at the podium twice in the first five weeks postgame?
NICK FOLK: Yes. 2013.
Q. Is that good or bad?
NICK FOLK: Good. Two game winners. I've got a great operation with Jake and Joe, they have had since I've been here. We had some moving parts in the line. They played well night offensively and on the field goal. It was just a good team win. Happy we could be a part of it.
Q. How much is it the bounce of the ball, last week it didn't go your way and tonight kept grinding and get the 52-yarder. Week-to-week you're in that situation as a kicker?
NICK FOLK: Yeah, you're only as good as your next kick. Just have to worry about the next one. Last week, doesn't matter, it was over. Took the corrections and fixed some stuff there and then the most important one is the next one. So I'll look at this and then get ready for Dallas.
Q. How eager were you to get out there and kick a long one?
NICK FOLK: Whatever the team needs. I want to get back in the saddle and get going again. The way I kind of look at it, a little bit of top gunning here when maverick loses, and they want to get him back in the saddle quick. That's me. I want to get back out there and help the team win as best I can.
Q. Take a couple yards off --
NICK FOLK: No, they just put a great drive on them. I told them at the end they had to finish it. I heard someone say seven-plus minutes, great way to end the game, great drive. That was all on them. Great way to end it.
Q. Did you say anything to cunning ham after the game?
NICK FOLK: I know Cunningham a little bit. Most kickers have been in that situation. A rough go a little bit. Good kicker and talented kid. Wish him nothing but the best.
Q. What's it like for you on the sideline knowing you might have a chance?
NICK FOLK: Just like any other drive, really. Thinking of my routine and what I've got to do to kind of be ready, where the ball is on the field and then once I think we had the big run, we were in closer range but it was also at that point, I was still thinking, touchdown, until they had wasted their time-outs, we got to two-minute warning and then take time off the clock and kick the field goal. If they had scored earlier, we would have made them drive the length of the field and score a touchdown. But for me, it was get ready for a kick, extra point or field goal.
Q. From a veteran perspective, what did you think of what Mac was able to do, put the drive together and get you the points to win?
NICK FOLK: Yeah, he's showing composure. He's doing a great job. He's learning a lot along the way but he's taking a good lead and leading drives to end the game. He got us within field goal range last week. He's doing a good job. Can't say enough good things about him.
