Sr. Jamie Collins

Visitors Postgame Press Conference

Patriots 25, Texans 22

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: Feels good to get a win on the road. Always hard on the road to get a win and we pulled it out and kept fighting, kept fighting and we did it. Sack felt good obviously. Always to sack the quarterback, getting after the quarterback but it's even better when you win on the road.

Q. Is it like riding a bike?

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: It ain't like riding a bike, it ain't that easy but playing for the Patriots, it's an honor. I'm blessed, grateful, third time coming back, they keep giving me chances so I'm definitely grateful, man, very proud.

Q. Did it seem like an easier transition?

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: Yeah, because I knew a lot of guys with the defense, some different stuff here and there, but at the end of the day, football is football, and I take my job serious so I just come in and work and it all works out. It pays off.

Q. The protection and the punt rush, were you on the field for the punt rush?

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: The block? Yeah I was out there.

Q. Take us through the mechanics of that.

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: We called the rush. Didn't work out how we wanted it to work out but you know we'll take it. Guy made a great play. He knocked the guy back into the punter. Punted off his head or something. We'll take it.

Q. Some might look at it, ball just goes off, what does it say about Lawrence to make that?

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: Yeah, from the sought I'd looking in, you look at it like that, but like you said, you don't see the guy across him make the play, which was Guy. Guy, he's a sneaky playmaker. He's always under the radar. He's not -- he's not a flashy playmaker, put it like that, you know what I mean but he always making plays. That's what's great about guy. He's not a flashy may maker and they the best kinds for real.

Q. You guys pretty frustrated at halftime based how the first half went?

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: Yeah, down, come in here about starting slow. We always talk about starting fast and we didn't. We started very slow, especially on defense coming out. But you know, once you come out with a plan and it don't work out, just got to keep fighting, man. We was frustrated a little bit but we kept fighting and end result is the best thing and it worked out for the greater good.

Q. The final 28 minutes, can you put your finger on what you were able to do, keeping them scoreless?

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: Just keep fighting. Don't stop. Never get complacent. Maybe those guys got complacent over there, maybe they got too excited and was looking too far ahead. We was just one play at a time, taking it one play at a time and it all worked out.

Q. What was it about the plan initially the Texans were able to beat?

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: They just came out firing on all cylinders. Like I said we started out slow. We didn't come out are the right amount of energy and they did and it took us awhile to put that fire out and we did. Like I said it's the NFL. Somebody going to come out starting hot and somebody's not. It's always the fight from within that keeps you going, and like I said, we did that. We kept fighting and we came out victorious.

Q. Looks like there were a few times where you tried to send a few extra rushers.

JAMIE COLLINS, SR: Yeah, like I said, they made more plays. They made some plays here and there, but like I said, at the end of the day, we had more points and I think that's the best thing that a team needs is more points, you know. So like I said, they did, they handled it for the most part but when it came down to it, we came out on top.
