COACH CULLEY: That's a good football team and we got outcoached and outplayed. But a lot of that had to do with them.
Q. [Question about Tyrod Taylor].
COACH CULLEY: Tyrod hyperextended his wrist a little bit. We weren't sure he could handle the football.
Q. Is he still the starter when he's healthy?
COACH CULLEY: When you don't score any points in the game you evaluate everything. We'll evaluate everything as we look at the video.
Q. Do you think he was healthy enough to come back in the game?
COACH CULLEY: He probably could have come back in the game if we needed him to do, but I don't know how effective he would have been throwing the football.
Q. What does Davis Mills offer the offense that would stir some improvement?
COACH CULLEY: I don't think anybody would offer us something offensively the way we've been playing. Like I said, we've got to evaluate everything. We're not good enough right now. We're not coaching well enough. We've made a few changes with some things we were doing. Didn't get done today. We're going to keep evaluating it and figure out the best way to do what we need to do and do it with the right people.
Q. Your offense has struggled in past games since Tyrod came back, but you've been more forceful saying he was the starter. Why is this performance different from the other ones?
COACH CULLEY: The one thing he's got to do, which today which he didn't do today, the first play of the game he had an interception, didn't take care of the ball. The next play on offense we had a fumble -- first two drives we had. Job for our quarterback is to get it into the end zone. He didn't do that today.
Q. (Indiscernible) Cunningham missing his COVID test?
COACH CULLEY: Again, we have standards and we've got rules. And he wasn't there. So internally made the decision.
Q. Was Tyrod fit or was he not healthy enough to play?
COACH CULLEY: I took him out of the game. I put Davis in when I knew his wrist, they told me they weren't sure he could grip the ball.
Q. Could you explain (indiscernible) the 12th ball game, having issues about formation and lining up. You had a successful play there on the field, (indiscernible) wrapped up because the receiver got covered up and you had an illegal formation. Why is this still happening?
COACH CULLEY: It shouldn't be happening. We've got to coach it better. We've got to coach it better and they've got to focus better and make sure it's getting done. And we're not doing a good enough job getting it done. We've got to continue to work on it.
Q. You said you're evaluating everything on the offense and as the team in general. What's missing on the game plan and the coaching end to move the offense the last recent weeks?
COACH CULLEY: Just consistency. We don't have the consistency. We're still having some breakdowns. We're not good enough to be able to play behind the chains when we have formation issues, when we have penalties. And basically those things put us behind the chains. When you do that we've got no chance to do that.
Q. Is there something missing in the game plans, do you think?
COACH CULLEY: I don't think it's in the game plan. It's not in the game plan. It's us executing. We've got to do a better job coaching them execute what we're doing. And we're not doing a good enough job doing that right now.
Q. Other side of the football, (indiscernible) a lot like Jonathan Taylor, over on the other side of the ball?
COACH CULLEY: I thought in the first half they did a nice job of holding them down there, especially with the two turnovers that we had. And then in the second half, you know, we weren't able to sustain anything on offense and they were going back out on the field. We were never ever able to get that momentum back. And the reason we weren't able to is because we couldn't stay on the field offensively. Basically they just wore us down.
Q. This being a second infraction (indiscernible), the second time you've punished him. Will he play next week or do you determine if he will?
COACH CULLEY: We're evaluating everything right now.
Q. When you evaluate what to do at quarterback moving forward, how much does kind of where your record is and what the state of the team is, the rebuild factor into maybe playing a younger guy in Davis versus playing Tyrod?
COACH CULLEY: We're just gonna look at the whole situation. I've got to look at the video just to see exactly what happened. I'm not sure why it was -- I know initially the two turnovers were a big key for us not being able to sustain anything.
Just gotta look at the -- Tyrod through the times he was there and looking at Davis while he was in there and see where we need to go from there.
Q. What was your conversation with Tyrod after (inaudible)?
COACH CULLEY: I told him that Davis was going in. And when I told him Davis was going in, he was kind of moving his hands like he understood.
Q. What would break the momentum of the Tennessee game into the next two games you all played?
COACH CULLEY: We're just not doing as good a job coaching as we need to to do that. And again, we've got to play better football. You've got to play complementary football. We didn't do that. We actually didn't do that against the tight ends. We didn't play complementary football. We had four turnovers. Had a couple of plays on offense. We're still not where we need to be after winning two ball games, we're not there yet.
Q. What are some of the things you think you have to do in order to get this team where you want it to be?
COACH CULLEY: Just look at it more closely than what we have and make the necessary corrections with players, with what we're doing, and see if we can't get it better. I mean, we're playing with who we're playing with. We've just got to get them better.
Q. Was he mad or disappointed, happened four times?
COACH CULLEY: Disappointed, yes, very disappointed.
Q. Surprised it's continued?
COACH CULLEY: I am surprised.
