Davis Mills

Postgame Press Conference

Colts - 31, Texans - 0

DAVIS MILLS: It's tough, but that's the job, it's part of being a backup quarterback. You've got to stay prepared and be ready for whenever your number gets called.

Q. The time that you've been watching from a different perspective than when you were playing, did you think that was (inaudible) continue?

DAVIS MILLS: I think so. Different scenarios have popped up since I last played that I've definitely learned from, we've seen on tape and corrected. And I've picked up as much as I could while not being out there. So I think moving forward it will help out.

Q. How hard was it coming into this situation (indiscernible) in the situation continuing where you guys are at?

DAVIS MILLS: I mean it's all similar. I think as a quarterback now I'm better player now than I was at the beginning of the season. I wouldn't say more prepared but I know more of the offense now, being in it for longer. I think the comfort builds as you get more making experience out there. Unfortunately Ty went down today and I was ready to step up.

Q. Coach said everything would be evaluated with the starting quarterback. If you are starting again how much more comfortable are you going to be (inaudible) when you first started?

DAVIS MILLS: Definitely more comfortable. I think the experience I've had earlier in the season affects that and helps with that. Moving forward it's the coach's decision to make. I'll be ready if my number is called if it does get called.

Q. (Question off microphone).

DAVIS MILLS: Just executing better. We had opportunities today where we still messed up some things that we'd like to get corrected. We just gotta put together a full game and go out there and make plays.

Q. How much do you and Tyrod communicate what it looks like (indiscernible) the sidelines you play (indiscernible). How much do you continue to communicate?

DAVIS MILLS: As much as we can. If something comes up and we need to talk about it on the sideline we communicate. But a lot of it today was just trying to go out there and make plays. There wasn't much going. We were just trying to go out there and do our best.

Q. It seems like each week (indiscernible) deploying some new wrinkle just to get something going. Behind the scenes even when you weren't playing, what did you see in the game plan to try to get something happening?

DAVIS MILLS: There's always new wrinkles and gadgets that we put in. And I think every NFL team does that to try to catch the defense off guard and go out execute. I don't see that going away. I think we're going to continue to be creative and go out there and ultimately score as many touchdowns as we can.

Q. (Indiscernible) when those come in, what's connected those things from working?

DAVIS MILLS: I think execution and I think some of it is just continuing to be better on first and second down. And moving the chains so you're able to put yourself in a position to get some of those bigger plays and take some shots. I mean really just make big plays.

Q. (Indiscernible) you were going to the game, when was it was it? Was it before Tyrod went (indiscernible) or right around the ten?

DAVIS MILLS: It was right in that moment. When he made the attempt, he came over and basically where it was up to see how he was feeling, to see if I could go in or not. But they ended up making the call.

Q. You said you've grown as a quarterback. In what ways have you grown?

DAVIS MILLS: A lot of it is just learning the offense, going out there and being confident with what my job is out there on the field and just getting more comfortable with the chemistry with the guys around me.
