Christian Kirksey

Postgame Press Conference

Colts- 31, Texans - 0

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY: Just the will to want to. We never want that many rushing yards put on us. We've got to find some things and make sure everybody's accountable for what they're doing, do it to the best of our ability.

Q. What was it like having Kamu tackling people all over the place, setting a record?

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY: He was on every tackle. I mean, Kamu has done, like, really well this year for us. I love the way he played. Just the energy that he brings to the team. And to go out there and see him do that, it's no surprise to me for him go out there having I think like 19 tackles.

He was flying around. And he's a great player. So I'm happy to see him actually achieve that and get the franchise record.

Q. How much does it take out of you to go out there and have to be in the field position you were for the most of the first half? And the three-and-outs are coming and just trying to keep the game close?

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY: You say how much does it take out of you.

Q. Yes.

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY: That's what our job and title is, play defense. Defend the goal and force the turnover, force the three-and-out. That's a part of our job.

It's not a bearing on us or it's not one of those things, oh, man, we have to do so much to do our job. I mean, that's what comes with it. We've just got to continue to do more of that.

Q. How is your thumb and getting ready for this game?

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY: My thumb, it held up. I did the best I can do to be out there for my teammates. I mean, it's football. You've got to play through injuries. As long as I'm available to be out there, that's what I'm going to do.

Q. How do you guys move on after another tough loss?

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY: We are professionals. We're grown men. You've got to put this one to bed. Watch the film, see where you can get better at. But at the end of the day we don't want sympathy or we don't want to feel sorry for ourselves. We gotta keep our heads up.

It's the National Football League. If you're losing, nobody cares how you feel. You just have to produce on Sundays.

Q. (Indiscernible) is responsible as a teammate and linebacker. Do you talk to Zach at a time like this and see what's going on, have a conversation?

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY: I can't really comment on that. I just be the best teammate I can be. And we just gotta play with the guys that's out there and just continue to play ball.

Q. Seeing some young guys come in, Garret Wallow, what did you see from him? And how has he been behind the scenes this year?

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY: Garret's been amazing. He shows up in practice. I mean, that linebacker group, just how we were built as a unit, guys can step in and not lose a beat.

Coach always preaches next man in, take advantage of the opportunity. And just from top to bottom in our linebacker unit, we're very confident on who goes out on the field. We all can play multiple positions in that linebacker room.

So when Wallow came in, he just fit right in and made the plays he's supposed to make and was having fun doing it.

Q. (Indiscernible) play calling today, from playing against the Colts to this one, how much difference did you feel in this one?

CHRISTIAN KIRKSEY: I mean, it's just my first game being back. Just getting to the groove of things. But I'm used to play-calling now. I had some time in practice to get back in the groove. It felt the same.
