Cardinals 16, Texans 21
Q. What makes this loss so hard?
KYLER MURRAY: Just feel like offensively myself, you know, feel like had enough chances to win the game.
Let the team down. That's how I feel.
Q. How do you balance that?
KYLER MURRAY: Wasn't enough good. Yeah, we made some plays, but just like I said, just felt like the defense, they did what they needed to do; we didn't hold up the end of the bargain on our side. It was frustrating.
Felt like we had too many opportunities not to win that game.
Q. (Indiscernible.)
KYLER MURRAY: Had a couple -- you know, just miscommunication or a missed throw here and there.
Like I said, we did some good, but there is no moral victories when it comes to what we were doing. Just frustrating, frustrating.
Q. (Regarding cutting yourself some slack.)
KYLER MURRAY: We're going to go back and watch it. I'm sure this one is going to sting watching it because there were a lot of plays to be made, a lot of things we probably wish we would've done differently.
I know there will be for me. No, the standard is the standard. It's frustrating. It's frustrating. It's frustrating.
Like I said, I felt like the defense -- I know for sure they gave us enough opportunities to go win the game and we didn't make it happen.
Q. ....confidence in knowing you were so close so many times, just fix a couple things...
KYLER MURRAY: Not right now. For me, no.
Q. (Indiscernible.)
KYLER MURRAY: Yeah. Fourth down, Trey, it's on me. Bad feet. Just missed a throw.
Going to Dortch we were short of the sticks. I think by a hair. Just got to be better all around. Just got to be better.
Q. (Regarding communication offensively.)
KYLER MURRAY: Yeah. You know, obviously they got loud. Third downs here and there, which made it a little tough to communicate.
But we got to be better in and out of the huddle. Again, I put that on us. We knew what it was going to be coming in here. Obviously the Houston Texans are playing good football. They feel good about what they got going on more so now than they have in the recent past.
We knew the type of crowd it was going to be. They were hyped. We got to be better at communicating.
Q. (Indiscernible.)
KYLER MURRAY: Yeah. I mean, win or lose, you know, obviously I was going to -- hoping to be able to talk to him just because he's a young guy and I'm glad -- happy to see what he's doing. But just to be able to share that moment, obviously it's cool.
Wish we would've won the game, but, you know, I'm happy the see the success he's having.
Q. (Regarding shaking off hits.) Maybe something you needed to feel, that kind of pressure, knowing you can continue on?
KYLER MURRAY: No, I mean, whatever -- you know, I love this game. Whatever it takes to win, obviously there is moments out there where you're gassed, exhausted, but that's what this game is.
You got to find a way. So for me it's not about taking hits. However we can get in the end zone, however we score, we score. That's all that's on my mind when I am out there.
Q. (Indiscernible.)
KYLER MURRAY: No. I wanted to spin, but no, he made a good play.
Q. The operational stuff, will that just come with time?
KYLER MURRAY: I think all of us, all of us, how can we find ways to be smoother in and out of the huddle. Guys getting back to the huddle, me communicating better, everybody can be better.
Like I said, it was loud out there so it was kind of tough, but we just got to be better. A little more urgency and things like that in and out huddle. Starts with me.
Q. (Regarding disconnected.)
KYLER MURRAY: Yeah, yeah, I mean, it is different. I mean, this is my second game, so it's -- I've seen -- obviously our record is what it is. Been here for so long so I've seen how the guys react and how they fight back and how they rally after a loss.
But like I said, it's just frustrating. Felt like the team, the defense gave us opportunities to go win the game and we didn't win the game, so that's pretty much really all that's on my mind right now.
Q. Anything specific growth-wise to take another step forward?
KYLER MURRAY: Today was -- I feel like it was a more competitive football game. I feel like it wasn't as clean offensively. Like that allows us to grow. I think there was maybe more negatives for us as an offense, so it's going to be a going to learning lesson for us to go back and watch and learn from those things.
But, no, I mean, obviously I told you during the week just trying to take a step each and every week we step out there. I feel like we made some strides today, again, we lost, so...
