Texans 23, Bills 20

Q. What happened last week and then it's 20-3, third quarter, place is loud. What changed for you guys? How did you guys turn this around to at least get it to where you did?

TERREL BERNARD: I think just settling in. Starting off, we didn't start off, you know, the way we wanted to, gave up a couple big plays there and, you know, like I said, we came in, took a deep breath, got back to doing what we do and we were able to get out there and calm down a little bit and still play. I think that was a huge testament to who we are as a team, with we've been in those situations and we fought our way back. Now I think the next step is not to get in those situations, so. Doing what we can to start fast and get on a good start so we're not playing from behind.

Q. Take us through the emotions of fighting your way back through a game and having it end that way.

TERREL BERNARD: Yeah, it sucks. It sucks to lose any game, but, you know, especially when you come back and fight all the way through. Feel like we had good momentum going into the second half in the fourth quarter there, but it's the NFL, man, it's a tough league and we can't put ourselves in those situations early, but, like I said, it shows the character and the heart of this team that regardless of the situation, we're going to go out there and fight and keep fighting until the game is over, so proud of the guys, like I said, we got to start better and we'll go back and work on what we need to work on, but proud of the guys.

Q. Seemingly you had them in a lot of favorable third down situation. They were able to convert. Some of that is Stroud being a darn good quarterback, but what in particular would you improve on third down to get off the field more often?

TERREL BERNARD: Yeah, like you said, man, they're a good team. They have a good quarterback, good receivers, good running backs and they're going to convert sometimes. In those third and medium and third and long situations, we get off the field every single time. I think, you know, executing the back end in coverage, receivers, routes a little bit and just playing to our techniques and fundamentals. I think that's a huge part of it. That's a point of emphasis for us, that we focus on, are trying to get better on and it's something we'll continue to get better at. It's a known thing for us to get better in those situations.

Q. What were you trying to do on the last play before the field goal?

TERREL BERNARD: Yeah, so I was really thinking to deep the back up, to keep the clock running. Obviously they had time-outs to use, scrambled around able and ended up dumping it down late, so I was kind of sitting back there, hoping we would keep them up and keep the clock burning. I think they ended up getting a timeout with two seconds left, so tough situation. It is what it is, man. We start from there and get better.

Q. A next to impossible situation, you almost can't allow any yards and they had time-outs. How do you -- (inaudible).

TERREL BERNARD: Yeah, I think the main thing is defending what we thought their line was. I felt like we did a pretty good job of that and I don't know what we got, five yards maybe, but just making up we didn't give up any explosive plays.
