Dolphins - 29, Chargers - 21
Q. Kalen, you got a lot of touches today. Were you eager to kind of get back at your old squad?
KALEN BALLAGE: I just want to go win a football game. It's nothing personal. The NFL is a business. Sometimes that's how it goes. Excited to get out there with my teammates and try go win a football game.
Q. You guys kind of got put behind the 8-ball early with special teams kind of mishaps early in the first part of the game. Were you comfortable with the strategy to run more, or do you think they should have put the ball in the air more a little to get back at it?
KALEN BALLAGE: They trust me with the ball in my hands. I feel like I trust our coaches and our game plan. Obviously we don't expect to get a punt blocked or anything like that. We just try to stick with the game plan and what it was.
Q. What did Miami do to disrupt your offense today or at least slow you guys down?
KALEN BALLAGE: They just got a good defense overall. I think their front seven is really good. They've got some good safeties and corners. So they were just good in disguising their coverages and what they were doing. So I think that's where they did a good job.
Q. How comfortable did you feel being out there today running the ball today?
KALEN BALLAGE: Good. I felt comfortable. I like having the ball in my hands. I feel like I'm able do some things with it. I'm just going to try to continue get better and help this team.
Q. I know you're kind of new with the team. You've been around Anthony Lynn for a month, but so far how has it been working with Anthony Lynn as head coach and also as a running back?
KALEN BALLAGE: I think for me it's great because he's coached a lot of good running backs. I respect him because he allows each individual running back to be themselves. He doesn't want you to be like anybody else.
And I've been in systems before where it's kind of like, you know, they want you to be a certain type of guy even if that doesn't fit your description. So I'm excited about being here and kind of just him letting me do what I do best and what I'm good at.
Q. And how about him as a motivator, a guy who gets people to compete? Because it's going to be tough for the next seven games because you're 2-7. What do you think Anthony Lynn could do to keep this team motivated fight to the finish?
KALEN BALLAGE: I don't think he has to do anything to keep us motivated. I think we do that ourselves, to be honest with you. So if you're unmotivated and you don't really want to be out there, then you shouldn't be out there. But I don't think we have that problem on this team.
