Dolphins - 29, Chargers - 21
Q. Can you just talk about the game today and just what's your mood going -- what's the mood in the locker room after just another loss and the way you guys lost today?
RAYSHAWN JENKINS: I feel like the mood, everybody's obviously disappointed because that definitely wasn't an outcome we expected, man. I felt like we gave them too much especially early on. I feel like we could have -- we could have helped ourselves out, put it that way.
Q. And Anthony, players, you guys always talk about how you guys feel like you guys are close. You guys can change the season around. Do you still -- even after a loss like this, do you feel like you guys can still turn this around and have a positive season moving forward?
RAYSHAWN JENKINS: Like I just said, they added two extra teams to the playoff this year? So --
Q. Yes, sir.
RAYSHAWN JENKINS: That's huge motivation especially for a team like us. We've got to tighten up, man, like Coach always say, especially when we go on the road we can't give people stuff.
Q. What can you guys do moving forward to kind of change your guys' outcome? What do you feel like you guys need -- what's that little boost that you guys need to be able to change this season around?
RAYSHAWN JENKINS: I wouldn't say a boost. I would just say everybody has to be locked in for 100 percent of the game. That's it. It's easy to say, I mean, hard to do. But us being professionals and we get paid for this. So this is our profession. So I feel like we just need to just stay with the details. Stay with the details for the entire game.
Q. What were your impressions of Tua Tagovailoa being the first time that you faced him and this being only his third game?
RAYSHAWN JENKINS: I felt like he's going to be a really good player in this league. He made all the throws today. He was on point today. His accuracy really surprised me today. I want to say that's the first lesson that a QB (indiscernible) in the NFL. I feel like he did -- he did really good, especially for his team.
Q. You have a very talented defense but can you share with me your thoughts about how big of a presence not having Joey out there, how does that affect your defense overall?
RAYSHAWN JENKINS: I feel like it's -- I mean we're missing Joey. We're missing Darwin (phonetic). We're missing key players. We're missing not just one or two players. A lot of guys have to kind of make sacrifices and kind of play around, play in different positions, which, as I said before, we're professionals, so we have to do that.
A game like this today, Joey would have been -- Joey is always an impact. Every time we don't have Joey on the field it's going to hurt us, you know?
Q. You mentioned missing some players in the game. And you guys being professionals and kind of have to fill in. But how much of a detriment is that to your defense when these guys are out? You mentioned Joey is always an impact and (inaudible) is an impact. But the guys, when they're not in the right spot how big a detriment is that for you guys?
RAYSHAWN JENKINS: It's crazy because at the end of the day you have to go through growing pains. And especially young guys who don't, who haven't really seen a lot of, say, time in this league. You can only get, in my opinion, you can only get better from playing in the game. I mean, you can get better in practice, of course, you can. But we talk about just seeing and feeling those game-like plays and the speed of the game and everything.
Q. So you mentioned Tua, your first time seeing a left-handed quarterback since you've been in the league. Did anything catch you off guard? You said he did (indiscernible) several throws. Anything that caught you off guard or surprised you a little bit?
RAYSHAWN JENKINS: No, not really. As far as boots and stuff, they just went the opposite way today. Boots usually comes, when the quarterback boots, he usually goes to our left. Today he went to our right, which shouldn't change anything we're doing. It's just something we haven't seen. And he was pretty efficient in my opinion today.
Q. You guys have given up 29 points in the last six games. How do you guys fix that, man, give your offense a chance to pull the game out?
RAYSHAWN JENKINS: I think we have to fix it in all phases. See what I'm saying? We have to fix it in all phases, whether that be getting the ball in the right field position sometimes. So, I mean, I feel like we've been in unfortunate situations but when we have the ball next, kind of stand up for the team and kind of take away points off the board.
Q. I don't necessarily mean to blame that all on the defense, just on the collective group, like just kind of that's what I meant, but you gave a pretty good answer.
