Dolphins - 29, Chargers - 21
Q. Can you just go over what your feelings are right now and just the level of frustration after just another tough loss?
HUNTER HENRY: I don't even know if I even have words at this point. We just beat ourselves tonight in every phase. Offensively we didn't play to the standard that we need to play at. I feel like every phase probably has obviously the things that they felt like they should have done better. We beat ourselves. We got beat tonight, yeah.
Q. Can you talk about Miami's defensive and just the way you felt like -- it seemed like they attacked you a lot differently than other teams had; they really added the pressure tonight? Could you just talk about the way that their defense played tonight?
HUNTER HENRY: Yeah, we knew the pressure was coming when we were coming in. We knew they were going to hit us with that. I felt like early on they didn't bring it. They were really good at mixing some things up, showing some different looks. And then towards the end of the game, obviously, trying to get big stops, they brought some pressure. We weren't able to execute like we planned we would. And they got the better of us today.
Q. It seems like after games and after these tough losses, Anthony Lynn, the other players, they talk about how you guys need to stay together and that this will get fixed. Do you believe that this can get fixed especially being 2-7 now? Do you feel like this can get fixed this season?
HUNTER HENRY: Yeah, we've got, what, seven more games. We've got seven more opportunities. I mean, it stings right now, what we've been doing and what we did today, it hurts, obviously. But obviously you see a lot of talent. In this room. You see a lot of grit. You see a lot of toughness. Not finishing the way that we should. But I'll go to battle with those guys in that locker room every single week. And I know that it obviously stings for the next couple of days, but I know that these guys will come back in here on Wednesday and.
Ready to go and we'll be ready to go back out there next Sunday.
Q. Tough game for you guys. Do you feel that the defense kind of dictated kind of what you guys were running on offense?
HUNTER HENRY: I wouldn't say that, necessarily. I just feel like obviously we didn't execute to the level that we should have. And obviously some of the pressure got there and got home today. I felt like we had a pretty good plan against the pressure and towards the end of the game obviously they were bringing it and able to get to us.
Q. You were right here in the mix, obviously. You're in the locker room every day. What do you see as a fix to this? Is it talent? Is it schematic changes, what do you see as a fix to this, sir?
HUNTER HENRY: I don't know. I don't know. I can't pinpoint it. But I just know that each guy can control what they can control, right? What I control is what's coming in, trying to be a leader for this team, and continuing to show up to work, continuing to press forward. And we're just going to take it week by week. It starts next week. Obviously we gotta get a lot better. And we have practice this week to get better. Continue to execute. And we have a mix of young guys and old guys. And that's every year in the NFL. We've just got to get everybody on the same page and just come back in here this week and get ready to go to work.
Q. What's your strategy, Hunter, as the leader on the team to keep you guys on the same accord, to keep you guys positive and come in here and just try and get better as a team and not separate, what's your strategy for that?
HUNTER HENRY: Yeah, I think just encouragement is the big one, right? Positivity, when there's a lot of negativity outside of this locker room, trying to be positive for these guys, lift these guys up and just, I think it's an example-setter. Continue to come to work, continue to be an example on the field, how I work, how I prepare and don't change anything in that aspect. Maybe even increase it to another level.
Q. Can you talk about the way Kalen ran today? He looked very impressive running the football today.
HUNTER HENRY: Yeah, we picked him up four, five weeks ago and was running the ball -- obviously you could tell he had something to him a little bit in practice. Then last week, bringing him up and playing a significant amount of snaps, obviously saw a lot of how hard he runs, his vision and how big he is and just physical of a back. I'm glad we have him and we're going to continue to need him.
Q. Do you think the mixture of having a balanced attack not only from the passing game but a good running game will help you guys in the future for the next seven games?
MICHAEL DAVIS: That's huge. Obviously that's what we need. Need to be able to do both.
