Dolphins 42, Panthers 21

Q. Bryce, general thoughts on the game today?

BRYCE YOUNG: Yeah, obviously tough, you know. It's tough. Again, it's tough. I love this team. I believe in this team. I'm blessed and happy to be a part of this team. You know, obviously it's not where we want to be. Hasn't been what we wanted.

It's tough, but we got to keep building, keep growing, trying to find things to continue to improve on, things that we've had, we got to expand on it. We got to keep building on the positives and then obviously a lot to clean up.

So, you know, game ended not too long ago so doesn't feel great of course. Again, I love being part this team and love this group, and we're going to grow from it.

Q. Bryce, the quick start, you jump up 14-nothing, what happened after that? How good were you feeling at 14-nothing?

BRYCE YOUNG: It was early. It was a good start. Obviously, you know, you're not going to win a game in the first quarter, in the first couple drives, so we have to do a lot better job sustaining and building off that.

You know, some good things there, and then obviously didn't have the success after that. You know, first and foremost, that falls on me. I have to do a better job of executing, making sure we all execute as a unit.

Again, use as a unit, a team, we all look in the mirror and we all have to improve. Good start is good. It's good to jump out to an early lead, but scoreboard -- we see what the scoreboard finished with, so it's not a consolation prize. We have to be able to sustain it.

I think it showed what we're capable of and there is positive there, and we have to find way to keep building on that and keep improving and then cut out the bad that came.

Q. Understanding it's not a consolation prize, but when you have 14-nothing, some of the things you guys are doing offensively, does that give you a glimpses of what this offense and this team can be?

BRYCE YOUNG: I think it definitely does, but we don't get to that point just because it happened for a quarter. We have to earn the right to make it consistent. We have to earn the right to make sure that's not a flash, it's not a good couple series.

You have to earn the right to make that be who we are and make that be our identity. That comes with work.

I definitely have confidence in us that that's where we'll get to, but it's a process. It's a journey. A lot of things I want to improve on. We all take that ownership and look in the mirror. Again, there is stuff to build off, but we're not simply going to be able to do it because it happened.

Again, we have to be intentional about how we work and put the effort and the work in and continue to build.

Q. Frank said six games is a good sample size. (Regarding the bye.)

BRYCE YOUNG: Yeah, it's a great opportunity. Obviously with the bye week you get the chance to do a little extended self-scout. You're able to look in just like you said, things that we can have gone well we continue to build off of, and things we have to improve on.

I think it's just a good opportunity. Obviously you're still looking forward to your next opponent, but it's a good opportunity to look inward and grow and work on the details, for us to focus on ourself for the week and a couple days of work.

So I think it's -- obviously it's really important for us to have urgency this bye week to make sure we use it and we take advantage of it and that we attack it so we can grow and be better for next game?

Q. You and Tua had a long embrace there at the end of the game. I don't expect you to tell us the conversation, but I'm assuming he gave you some words of encouragement.

BRYCE YOUNG: Yeah, that's something that -- I have a ton of respect for Tua. Great player, great person. So, yeah, you know, I obviously there are things said between us that I'll keep between us.

You know, again, great guy, great competitor, great player. You know, it was definitely great to be able to talk, and yeah, definitely did give some words of wisdom, and, again, stuff that I'll hold onto.

But, you know, again, great guy, great player. Excited for his future as well and to be able to watch and follow that.

Q. Bryce, you seem to be taking this one a little harder than the others. Why is that if that's the case?

BRYCE YOUNG: You know, again, we're all competitors. You know, I think, again, it builds up. It sucks where we at. It's not anyone's goals, regardless of -- again it's fresh and it's not where we want to be. Regardless of that, I don't think this is -- it isn't something -- I don't lose any confidence or feel any different about the team.

We're in a tough place and it's difficult, but there is no locker room, no group I would rather be here with, no group that I have more confidence in to dig ourselves out of this. We're all competitors. No one feels good right now, but I can't really compare from this week to -- you know, we try to move the page and move on.

I can say that I have tremendous confidence in this team and coaching staff and us as an organization, and I'm proud to be a Panther. Obviously this isn't where we want to be, but I'm excited for us as a group to be resilient and fight and grow through it.
