Bills 31, Dolphins 10
VON MILLER: Like I said last week, just feels good to be able to do your job on a short week, especially at 35 years old. Wasn't easy, but was able to recover in these days.
McDermott and the coaching staff did a good job getting us healthy and working on our the mental. We knew we were going to play a tough Miami team. They still had a lot more out there. Even though the score was what it was, that was a deception of the type of game it was. It was closer than that. You know, their stars are all explosive and they still have all or respect.
Q. To do that without Terrel Bernard, Taron Johnson, that was pretty impressive.
VON MILLER: Yeah, you know, I hate saying next-man-up because you can't replace those guys. TB, that's our captain. He's the heartbeat of this defense. We already a lot Matt Milano, so going to be tough to try to fill that void.
But those young guys, man, got to give it to them. Baylon Specter came in and made it work. Kept the defense together. He did a great job leading the guys out there.
We were able to come out with a dub.
Q. What were you able to learn about this team over the last five days?
VON MILLER: I'm neither surprised nor satisfied. We had a lot of good practices during training camp. We played Pittsburgh pretty tough. We had a good game last week, too.
So I think the confidence was flowing from that second half last week, and we just believed in ourself. We gave Miami all the respect. They got all type of stars, explosive players, some of the best players in the league.
We just believed in the type of football that with are playing and that we been playing and just came out here and took it one play at a time.
Today it was for us.
Q. How tough was it to watching Tua...
VON MILLER: It was tough. You know, I love Tua on and off the football field. I'm a huge fan of him. And then I can always -- I can empathize and sympathize because I've been there. I've been injured and I know how tough that road is to come back.
I wish him the best. Like I said it's just a game. I love him on the off and football field. I wish him a speedy recovery. Hopefully it's nothing serious oops.
Q. How much is Bobby Babich's fingerprint on this defensive performance?
VON MILLER: Bobby, he's doing a great job. He's been doing a great job. I don't think it should be any surprise. I don't think anybody should be surprised by the type of job that he's doing.
You know, we had a dynamic offense last week, dynamic offense this week and he dialed it up for us.
He's a great coach. He's an even better teacher, man. He's just one the guys. He really knows how to get the guys' mindset right, and I got all the respect in the world for Bobby. Only two weeks in, so can't get too high.
But we going to celebrate this one tonight for sure.
