Cardinals 28, Dolphins 27
Q. Are you going to make this a habit? The last-second field goal and drive down (indiscernible)?
KYLER MURRAY: You know, we get a chances to go score at the end of the game with a chance to win, I like us. You know, I like the ball in my hands. I want the ball in our hands. With the guys that we have offensively, as long as we stay on schedule and we execute I think we can be one of the best offenses in the league.
Obviously today was one of our better days. Probably the best day we've had since the Rams game, but it's about being consistent.
That's where we take strides is if we can continue to do this and play the way we played today. It wasn't perfect, but if we continue to grow on this, then we can be up there with anybody.
Q. (Off microphone)
KYLER MURRAY: I thought we did. The game it ebbs and flows. Four quarters, you play four quarters, you stick together. I thought we stuck together today.
Run game was tough to get it going, but Drew gave me a lot of chances, and we connected a lot today, so it was good.
Q. (Off microphone)
KYLER MURRAY: Just opportunities I feel like. I just feel like -- I understand the game starts in the trenches, and I understand you have to be able to run the ball.
But I just feel when the ball is in my hands and I'm able to get the ball to these guys, the weapons that we have, you see I threw a check-down to Dortch. He made two dudes miss. You got Trey, Marv, Mike, Dortch. We got so many weapons I feel. We have to get these guys the ball.
Again, you have to be able to run the ball, and we've done that pretty well since Drews got here. I think we also have another element to our offense, and that's the explosion and being able to stretch the field.
Q. You take pride in not getting sacked.
KYLER MURRAY: I didn't get sacked today, right?
Q. It felt like if it wasn't for you that (indiscernible).
KYLER MURRAY: That's the gift that God blessed me with, being able to move around. I trust those guys up front. Obviously they got two of their bookends out. Three really. Yeah, they have a great team over there even with those guys being out.
So it's going to be tough. It's the NFL. You have guys coming off the edge every weekend that are pretty dominant, but the guys up front, they hold their own and proud of them to be able to fight for four quarters. Obviously a team like that that blitzes a lot, it's on me to be able to get the ball out knowing I'm hot.
Q. You said this week that you had to figure out (indiscernible). Clearly you figured it out.
KYLER MURRAY: I don't really see all the speculations and stuff because it's all on Twitter and stuff like that. He hears it. I hear. It's hard not to hear it. At the end of the day he has to be himself and just continue to get better each and every week. That's all we have to do.
It's going to get there. (Expletive) don't happen overnight, you know what I mean? I'm super proud of him today. He kind of took over. It's one of those moments where you feel like when I dropped back, especially that dig over the middle, you know, where we got the holding penalty, catches it, takes a hit in the head and stays up. Those were confidence-builders.
I feel like this game was really big for him and for me and for us to get on that page, you know? Again, a guy like that, you have to just give him opportunities, and I think that's a big deal.
Q. (Off microphone)
KYLER MURRAY: Yeah, for me there's no complacency. We've been 7-0. We've been 8-0. We've been in playoffs once, but I'm trying to get to that next level. You know, that's where my mindset is. I know we've happy right now. I know we're 4-4, and happen to be .500, and looking at the division. To me it doesn't really matter. I'm sticking to the ground, sticking to the process. That's what really matters. You can get beat any given Sunday in this league no matter who you are playing.
Q. (Off microphone)
KYLER MURRAY: I think it's good to feel the way we feel right now. Just to get that feel with we can be explosive. We can push the ball down the field.
I forgot your question. Sorry.
Q. Just consistency with back-to-back wins.
KYLER MURRAY: Yeah, long time. Long time. I'm not really putting too much into that. I know it's a hell of a stat. I'm not really putting too much into it.
Q. Earlier this year you said that Trey had developed into being able to do things off schedule. Today he was able to -- (indiscernible)?
KYLER MURRAY: He's a beast. I can't say enough about. Trey, yeah, again, I tell you every week I think he could be the best in the league. The athleticism, being able to block. He can do it all. You know what I'm saying? He can do it all.
He's one of our best guys. We have to continue to get him the rock.
Q. (Off microphone)?
KYLER MURRAY: I did. That hasn't gone to me play, but yeah, I did know that. Elijah's birthday too. Shout out to Elijah.
Q. (The question about Trey)
KYLER MURRAY: No, it's funny to see, man. When he first came in, he was kind of the young buck who didn't really know what was going on. That stopped a little bit.
The game is moving fast. You have to learn a lot, but now it's like he's a savvy vet. He gets it. He's under control at all times. The game is moving slow for him, and he's telling me certain things that he sees and zones and stuff like that.
Trey has came a long way. He's a guy for sure.
Q. What did you see on the corner route?
KYLER MURRAY: Got like a zero look. Yeah, I was going to go to Marv. Dropped out into the window, and then got back to Trey. Obviously one-on-one he's hard to start. We don't know who is going to guard him one-on-one, but he won. It was pitch and catch at that point.
Q. (Off microphone)
KYLER MURRAY: I forget. I forget. The drives kind of combine together. I knew when we had a chance at the end we were going to go score. That's the mentality. That's how I felt. I felt like I was in a groove. I felt we were in a groove.
When we are in that zone, there's nothing they can do. That's how it feels. As long as we stay on schedule. We had one holding penalty. That got called back, and we overcame it. It was progress.
Q. (Question about the short week)
KYLER MURRAY: We'll see. Yeah, we'll see. Get healthy. Yeah. Got to get back to work.
