Miami Dolphins 32, New York Jets 26
Q. Aaron, was this as good as you felt the offense has operated?
AARON RODGERS: Yeah, we did some good stretches. I think we scored like the first five possessions. Got to be better in the red zone. We had a couple negative yards plays and false starts that hurt us, but I felt like we moved the ball pretty efficiently. We obviously had the two three-and-outs and we're back tied and put together a nice try to get down there and take the lead but even on that drive, we had negative yards plays down there, like the 25 or whatever, so, disappointing.
Q. (Inaudible) Davante where he went out of bounds, was the intend to stay in?
AARON RODGERS: Was the intent to stay in?
Q. Yeah.
AARON RODGERS: I mean, they played jam front, six-man box, we had draw called, so I just threw it out there to him and there was not a whole lot of a conversation about staying in bounds. Obviously he would have liked to, he was trying to get yards. I'm not sure he was trying to go out of bounds, but, yeah.
Q. Is it the healthiest you felt in a while today?
AARON RODGERS: I felt good last week, too, yeah.
Q. How do you make sense of the way you guys are losing games. This is three in a row that, like, you guys had it and it slipped away.
AARON RODGERS: Yeah, we had chances, a lot of chances, you know. Just got to look at the offense, that's what we can control, you know, score touchdowns in the red zone. 30 again, got to get to 30, obviously that would have been short today. Not in regulation, though, but, you know, we had our chances to get to 30 today, didn't do it, and that's why we lost.
Q. Why do you think you haven't been able to close out some of these close games.
AARON RODGERS: There's a lot of reasons, like we said, you know, a lot of different ways we've lost these games. It has, you know, it has some skin on that. But, you know, we had opportunities on offense. Whatever happens on defense doesn't matter. We got to get to 30, we didn't do it. We're efficient, pretty good on third down. The red zone, we stalled out too many times.
Q. I know that you probably hit -- the reality has probably sunk in about (inaudible) just based on how high the expectations were.
AARON RODGERS: Yeah, the expectations were high. We didn't reach them. We were close. It felt good three weeks in. That week off, everybody felt real good and since then, it's been a lot of difficult games with opportunities to win. We just didn't figure out how to win enough games. I didn't play good enough in some crunch times and that's why we're sitting here with the record we got.
MODERATOR: A couple more.
Q. Reflect on this organization -- (inaudible) that's almost hard to do.
AARON RODGERS: What's the question?
Q. Well, can you reflect on that?
AARON RODGERS: I mean, I've been here -- I've started one year, so. I'm part of it for one year. It's disappointing.
Q. This probably pales in comparison to the outcome, but we asked you the other day about that 300-yard streak. You went over that today. (Inaudible) (Laughter).
AARON RODGERS: Got that behind us. Got that behind us. What's next?
MODERATOR: Thanks, everybody.
