Baltimore Ravens 28, Miami Dolphins 6
Q. Tua, how do you explain for it to change so drastically from 34-10 in Atlanta to what we saw tonight?
TUA TAGOVAILOA: Yeah, I think for us offensively just started with the little things we're off a little bit here on this play. We're off a little bit there on that play. We just couldn't find our flow in that and when we did find our flow, we had some penalties, we had some issues going on with that, so I would say first off, that all starts with me and got to continue to get our guys better in that aspect but this isn't a game where we're discouraged. It's one of those games where you wish you could have done more or whatever you could to help the guys go out there and execute the way we wanted to execute offensively.
I think the defense gave us a great opportunity in the first half and then in the second half as well with crucial third down stops, giving us the ball back, giving us an opportunity and as I said prior, those are times where we got to capitalize on those.
Q. Can you walk me through the fourth downplay towards the end of the second quarter?
TUA TAGOVAILOA: To 'Von? I just got to give him a better ball.
Q. Were you surprised that that was the call? De' Von Achane had Kyle Hamilton on him. Do you wish you would have gone elsewhere, let's say?
TUA TAGOVAILOA: Not necessarily in that particular look. They went coverage zero, so you got to get the ball out regardless, so that's what I did.
Q. The fourth and one where Larry Borom was called for the false start, what was your understanding of what happened there as far as...
TUA TAGOVAILOA: I would say with the Ravens fans, it maybe got a little muffled with my cadence and the crowd noise, so we kind of talked about that on the sideline after and got that corrected.
Q. You talked about not being discouraged. How do you guys kind of rally together to try to bounce back for next week?
TUA TAGOVAILOA: We had a pretty heartfelt conversation in there after the game and, yeah, after that conversation, I feel like guys are going to go away, they're going to do what they need to do but when we come back on Monday, we're ready to work.
Q. Right at the end of the half, no Hail Mary and sliding in the pocket. Can you explain what you're thinking in that moment and just deciding to protect yourself there?
TUA TAGOVAILOA: Yeah, I think in that instance you're trying to buy as much time to allow those guys to get down there and for yourself as well, you got to try to maneuver the pocket and get a clean hitch or a crow hop to be able to throw that, so that's when I wasn't even looking at the guys running down there. I was kind of trying to maneuver the pocket and then if the pocket allowed, I was going to be able to launch one, but it happens.
Q. 235 yards of offense in the first half and six points to show for it. Is that frustrating to come out at halftime or do you think, okay, we're playing our game?
TUA TAGOVAILOA: Yeah, I would say it's frustrating offensively and all the guys felt that same way, frustrating because we knew we were a little off here, a little off there and we had some mistakes, we had some penalties, some crucial ones at that and we just weren't able to capitalize so we felt we were moving the ball pretty well in the first half, we just weren't showing anything for it, really.
Q. When the receivers are kind of cuffing up a the ball, what's the message to them during those moments?
TUA TAGOVAILOA: They know they got to hold on to the ball just like any of the guys that our ball carriers, even myself, like myself, I know I got to protect the ball, they know the same thing. It's not about reminding them that like, hey, you know you can't do that. Just continuing to encourage them, keep them encouraged, keep their mindset going in the game to keep them confident.
Q. With this being a mini bye, the weekend off, also the trade deadline looming on Tuesday, do you have concerns for Mike, for players that might get dealt with this team now 2-7?
TUA TAGOVAILOA: I would say that's above my pay grade. I let those guys upstairs worry about that and do what they immediate to do in terms of how we're working things with the team, so, yeah.
