Steelers 27, Titans 24
Q. AJ, this game was obviously a tale of two halves. From your perspective what was the difference between the two?
AJ BROWN: Second half we just started playing better. It's tough, you can't spot a good team 27 points, but definitely we started playing better, we started executing better and our defense started helping us out and we got the ball running.
Q. Did you think your TD changed the tide and did you think that was going to be the moment that turned the game?
AJ BROWN: I think it was just -- we was just needing a big play. I think that fair strike, that score kind of gave us some boost. That's what we needed. I don't really know.
Q. Do you think that when you start a season winning as many games as you did and on such a roll, having a loss like this can maybe serve as an opportunity to, I guess, see that though you're a successful team, there are still things to improve?
AJ BROWN: Oh, most definitely. If we were winning every game, if we would have won today, there's still always something to improve on. Getting a loss, it kind of magnifies what we didn't do well. So I think moving forward, I think this loss kind of helped us, to be honest. When you're winning, sometimes you sweep a lot of stuff under the rug, a lot of stuff goes unnoticed because you're winning.
But I think we came out and we played better in the second half. We've just got to play better like the whole game, be more consistent.
Q. When the defense is struggling like it has, you guys on the offense kind of take it upon yourselves to take more of the load, more of the responsibility to try to help this team win?
AJ BROWN: We try to focus on us, and we try to let them do theirs. We don't try to get caught up in all that. We try to do our job whenever we're on the field. They've got to play just like us. We've got to hold our own just like they've got to hold their own. We don't get caught up in the offense and defense. Whenever we're out there we expect us to score every drive. We're that confident in our offense that we can score every drive we play. That's our mindset. It's not about the defense and stuff.
Q. Obviously you had a couple of undefeated teams heading into this one. How much of a measuring stick game was this for both teams, and when you see them, how do you think this team compares to what they have?
AJ BROWN: I mean, we're a play away. We're a play away. In this league you've just got to keep playing. You've got to keep fighting. Going into the game you don't know who's going to win, regardless of what the stats say, 5-0, 0-5, it doesn't matter. We're in the NFL. These guys are really good. We're good. It's the competitive edge, the details that's going to show up every single time, going to give the winning edge.
Comparing, I think we're close. I think we've got to clean up some stuff, of course, but it's still early in the year. We're not trying to get bought up into 5-0, all this stuff, undefeated. We're just trying to win, 1-0 every week. That's my mindset, that's our mindset, and today we fell short. But it was just a play away. That's a really good team. Like I said, you cannot spot a good team 27 points and expect to win. It's not a video game.
I think we're okay. We're going to go back and we're going to get to work, clean up the details and we're going to keep moving forward.
