Seahawks 16, Cardinals 6
JONATHAN GANNON: Injury front, I think we're okay. Nothing too crazy of note.
You know, not our best game. Didn't do enough all three phases. Give credit to Seattle. I thought they played extremely well. I just told the team in there, we're going to learn a lot from this game.
We've got to get back to work tomorrow and got to learn and improve from this game. So that's what we'll have energy and focus to do. Go ahead.
Q. What do you think they're going to learn?
JONATHAN GANNON: I think to value the ball. I felt like the interception was a big play. I think we've got to protect the quarterback better. Seemed like the pocket was collapsing a little too much.
That goes in all 11. That's not just the O-line. It's the quarterback, the backs, the receivers, timing, rhythm.
I thought that defensively I've got to do a better job when they start to play a certain style, we've got to have a couple more bullets. That was completely on me because I wanted a tight menu this week. That was not good by me.
So we'll just get back at it, you know, fundamentals and everything that goes into winning and losing. That's what we'll look at tomorrow.
Q. With the pass protection, where do you think that that started --
JONATHAN GANNON: It started a heavy dose of pressure there on third down, and it looked like they started running some four-man rush in games. We just have to do a good job in pass pro. It's not just the offense, the offensive line. I think it's the route detail of when guys got to get open, things of that nature. That's all 11.
So we'll get back at it. We'll rebound from it.
Q. Were you surprised at all with the run game today? You guys have done such a great job.
JONATHAN GANNON: Yeah, I felt like it started a little sloppy, and then we got it moving, and then we fouled a couple of times.
I thought there was plays there, but again, where you get down in that game, you know, you're not really playing normal ball there for a good chunk of the game. So we've got to do a better job earlier in the game to make sure we're not playing left-handed.
Q. What do you think made Leonard Williams so hard to go against?
JONATHAN GANNON: He's a good player. We knew he was a good player coming in. He's a premium player for a reason. Hats off to him. He's always been a good player, and I think we've got to look at that... how can we adjust and handle him a little bit better because I thought he wrecked the game.
Q. One of the areas this year Kyler has really shined is under pressure he's been fantastic. Today it seemed like when there was pressure, it was struggles for the offense. Did you see that?
JONATHAN GANNON: Coach and playing. We all have to look in the mirror and figure out better ways and make sure that he is not under duress. Like I said, we'll have a lot of energy and focus how to get better from this game.
Q. What information did you get out Marv's review?
JONATHAN GANNON: Not a touchdown.
Q. Kyler was in the medical tent at the very end.
JONATHAN GANNON: Yeah, I think that was from up top. They called down. The guy (indiscernible) him. He capped him off, fell on him. He lost his wind. That's why he didn't get up immediately. They thought it might have been a head issue, so made him go in the tent, but he was fine.
Q. What did you make of the pressure your D-line was able to generate?
JONATHAN GANNON: I thought it was good. We're going to learn a lot with our four-man rush mechanics. I feel like we've got to do a better job because a lot of his extension plays I felt hurt us.
Off the top of my head, two or three conversions on third down, and we're in four-man rush. So we have to cover better and rush a little bit better.
We knew coming in Geno, he's a really good player. He can move and make plays and extend, but that's another thing that we're going to learn a lot from. We have to do a better job with that.
Q. Having said that, do you feel like your defense gave you a chance today?
JONATHAN GANNON: Yeah, I do. I thought that they hung in there and battled, forced a bunch of punts, kept points off the board. I thought the interception by Garrett was fantastic, kept us in the game there, kept points off the board.
We made some mistakes. We made some mistakes, starting with me. I'm pissed off at myself because I'm the first culprit, but then we'll get better as a staff and the players will get better.
Q. With the offensive line do you attribute any of those struggles to lack of continuity with the substitution for the first --
JONATHAN GANNON: No, I don't.
