Jarran Reed

Weekday Press Conference

JARRAN REED:

Q. We talked to Ernest yesterday. He said slow kind of a start for you guys and then you got going. What's the key, do you think, to avoid that slow start and just get started out of the gate the way you want?

JARRAN REED: I think just communicating right off the bat; everybody being on the same page early in the game. They kind of caught us off our game a little bit. We fixed it in the second half and handled it from there.

Q. When you joined this team, Jarran, they were rolling; crowds were nuts. You guys had a home field advantage that was better than any in the league.

JARRAN REED: Say that again.

Q. The home field advantage that you had when you first got to the league, how has that changed from then to now?

JARRAN REED: I don't think it's changed. I think Green Bay during the course of the game they had a good fan base; they had a good showing. But we got faith in our 12s, and the louder they get the more momentum we have on our side.

Q. Do you focus more on the slow start you guys had or the way you responded to it to answer that and get back going from last week?

JARRAN REED: We definitely sit back and analyze the things we could have done different: Start faster and then implement those things in practice and build from there.

Definitely second half was more our style of football.

Q. What's the biggest challenge you see the Vikings offense presenting you guys?

JARRAN REED: They do a good job with their scheme. Kind of similar to some of the teams we play. They run the ball a lot. They got play-action off that. We just have to play our game, play honest.

They don't give too many tells. They're a great team. They're on fire right now, so we got to come out smoking hot, ready to play.

Q. Being a copycat league like it can be, is there anything that you expect that Green Bay did that Minnesota might try to copy from last week or is that kind of unique to what Green Bay is?

JARRAN REED: No. I think Green Bay just did the things that you do and they did it well. I think the Vikings going to be pretty much different, but they're a good team as well. They got their own scheme they're going to try to hit us with. We're prepared and ready to go out and play.

Q. As you know, interior line stats aren't always an indicator of how someone is playing. What have you seen from Byron Murphy his rookie year?

JARRAN REED: I think he's having good to year. It's his first year and it's a lot of guys along the line. He's come in and done obviously a good job. The stats are not there but they will be there. He does what we ask him to do and he does it very well.
