Bengals - 22, Patriots - 18
Q. Jakobi, could you take us through the long third down throw in the end zone the tip from Scotty, what you're going through on that play, how it was drawn up and how you thought it happened?
JM: Honestly, I ran my route. I know the ball was supposed to go underneath and probably try to catch and carry it, but I seen Mac break loose and give my guy Scotty a chance. I was trying to get around the ball.
I figured if he's a big tall guy, and either he made the play or tip it and I'd be there to catch it in case. Shout out to Scotty, I was there, right time, right place.
Q. How would you describe the mood around the team right now?
JM: As you would expect, honestly, guys, losing alone is sour, but losing a game that you needed to win in order to get to where you want to be, that's even more sour.
Like I said, we always have great leadership in the locker room. We've got a lot of great talent beneath us, like younger guys who we know can make plays and who we know are hungry to make plays.
Yeah, it hurt but at the same time we've got to make sure we keep those guys motivated and at the same time listen to the leaders in the locker room. I think we'll be all right.
Q. The touchdown you had today is a play you rarely see in football. The play last week is a play that rarely happens in football. What's it say that two weeks in a row you've been involved in plays you never really see?
JM: That's football. One day you can experience the highest of the highs. The next day you can be the lowest of the lows. That's honestly not even football; that's life. I feel I learn a lot of lessons playing the game.
At the end of the day I'm a man who believes no matter how good or bad things go I've got to stay the same every day. I'm grateful for the lessons I learned last week and I'm grateful for the opportunity I received this week. I'm just trying to keep pushing to being a better player every day.
Q. Things were a little tough. The crowd was letting you all hear it in the first half and kind of let Mac Jones hear it. What does it say to you to see how he responded in the second half and the way really the whole offense picked up their level of play and gave you guys a chance to win at the end there?
JM: I mean, his resiliency. That ain't the first time that it's happened this year, honestly. He done dealt with it all year, guys ready to pass to it the next guy. But he keep going out there battling. He takes shots, gets back up. He make mistakes, he comes back up try to fix it.
Shout out to Mac. It's a tough guy mentally physically. I can roll with him any day because at the end of the day regardless of what people say he's going to go out and fight the hardest. Shout out to him. Proud of the guys.
Q. Obviously guys are going to say take it day-by-day, work hard, try and get a win. How difficult is it to keep that mindset given the way the last two games have gone and the current situation?
JM: I wouldn't say it typical at all. Like I said earlier, we've got some great vets on the team and some great young guys who are hungry to make plays. Honestly all we have to do is follow the words they say, follow the foundation that's already been set.
We are professionals at the end of the day. So it shouldn't be too tough. We know what happened here. But at the end of the day we all love each other. And it's hard to go out there slack off when you know you're playing with the guy next to you. We're still having fun with it. Just keep trying to make plays.
