Kenny Pickett

Postgame Press Conference

Q. Kenny, can you talk about the touchdown play and where you were going the whole time?

KENNY PICKETT: Yeah, they went zero. We were preparing all week in these kind of bigger moments that they were going to go to zero, got our protection right. Gave George his route and he went up there and won. Big-time player making big-time plays in those moments.

Q. Describe the emotions of this win.

KENNY PICKETT: Highest of highs and the lowest of lows in this game. It's unreal to win like at home in front of our fans. Obviously it was up and down early. We hung in there, stuck with it and found a way to win. That's all that matters. Really proud of every guy in that locker room.

Q. With Joey's pick, what was the conversation in the huddle?

KENNY PICKETT: Go score, go finish the game. That was my mindset. Obviously there's a lot going, but guys just focusing and execute each play and move down the field and get in end zone.

Q. Takeaways by the defense and blocked punts, what does that do for an offense?

KENNY PICKETT: It's huge. I can't say enough about our defense and then our special teams also stepped up today. Shout-out to Miles. A guy who dedicates to his craft. I watch him work every day. I watch him work punt blocks all the time. He's constantly doing it, he's obsessed with it. No surprise he steps up when we need it. Huge appreciation for Miles.

Q. How big of a spark was Jaylen in the second half?

KENNY PICKETT: Massive. Plays unbelievably hard. Very talented player, want to get the ball to him in space as much as we can whether the run game or pass. I feel like he does great things in both areas. Obviously came in together as rookies, and in our second year here, but love him and proud of him.

Q. Is that something that you individually and group collectively go and is that a huge boost?

KENNY PICKETT: Yeah. Pushes you that way, obviously there's ups and downs in a season. There's ups and downs in the games. We found a way to win down the stretch, that's all that matters. It's nowhere near as good as it needs to be, speaking from an offensive standpoint. We understand that, all the players do, all the coaches do. We work tirelessly at it to get better and score more points.

But at the end of the day, we went down there and win the game and got the W. We're going into the bye week, get healthy. Got some banged up guys, want to try to get back to full strength. So it will be good moving on from the bye week.

Q. What was the difference with you in the fourth quarter and your confidence?

KENNY PICKETT: I don't think any really changed. We're were mixing it up. Had our run and pass game working. We continue to work on that and do more of it. And I've got to be more accurate and put balls on guys. There's always areas to improve, but it was good we came together as a unit there and executed at a high level.

Q. How important was it that nobody got outside of themselves and made a big mistake that allowed you to stay close in the game.

KENNY PICKETT: Right. I think we stay together. I was preaching that all week. You get to this level, there's so many outside factors to try to get into a team and pull them apart, whether it's media related, fan related, whatever it may be.

You have to stay together in football. It's the ultimate team game. Offense, defense, special teams. Eleven guys working together, pushing each other, and playing their hearts out to win. That's what we did. I'm incredibly proud of our team.

Q. What does it say about your faith in George when you make a throw like that and he delivers?

KENNY PICKETT: Yeah, I think there's no question in my faith in 14 and how much I believe in him, and always giving him opportunities to make plays. That's something I'll continue to say, it's what I've been saying since I got here and been playing with him. Unbelievably talented player, and shows up at big-time moments and I always want to give him those opportunities.

Q. Give you and Mason Cole a lot of credit for checking the line of scrimmage. What changed with the Ravens?

KENNY PICKETT: It's all game-play related. It's whatever we put in the game plan, the coaches put in the game plan that allows me to do it at the line or not. If they go to zero, we always have those answers, we can do certain things.

We did a really good job of communicating today. There's some personnel things we have to get cleaned up. It wasn't as smooth as we hoped or need it be. All areas we can improve on. We have to continue to show up and get better.

Q. So it was part of the game plan that you thought they would go zero more?

KENNY PICKETT: Yeah, we had more zeros based off what they show on tape.

Q. You always want to get the ball to George. Did you go in thinking you were going to be able to and wanted to?

KENNY PICKETT: That was the plan. You never know how it's going to play out. You never know how it's going to play out, but that was the plan going into it. If we had a chance to get George one-on-one, we'll take it. Sometimes they press, sometimes they did it in zero. And we got the perfect look for it down the stretch.

Q. Second time against the Ravens you've thrown a game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. What can you say about the rivalry.

KENNY PICKETT: Yeah, Coach showed up tape of how close the games are against the Ravens. It's just how it goes in the AFC North. All the teams are competitive. Great offenses, great defenses going at it every week. We were saying it's going to be a marathon-type game down to the end. Everyone doing their job you have a chance to win at the end.

Q. Have you seen the Pickens catch yet?

KENNY PICKETT: No, no.

Q. Do you think you ever threw a better ball?

KENNY PICKETT: I don't know, I haven't seen it. We'll see. Glad he caught it. Glad he scored. I have to watch it.

Q. You didn't play with a brace on your knee today. How did it feel?

KENNY PICKETT: It was good. It was good. Our trainers spent a lot of time with them doing everything I can to make sure I'm as healthy as I can to be out there. They took care of me. Huge appreciation. I think this bye week came at a good time to get guys back and get myself healthy.
