Buccaneers - 17, Steelers - 14
Q. What went into the decision to start Teddy Bridgewater today?
TODD BOWLES: We wanted to see him in action. That's by no means a demotion for Kyle. We want to see him play. We don't want to see him playing mop-up time, so we wanted to put him out there, look at him and see where he was. He did a good job.
Q. (Inaudible) was that remarkable a function like that?
TODD BOWLES: That's pretty good. That's pretty good. For being in it only 12 days is another reason we wanted to put him out early with guys that knew what they were doing. He did a great job. He threw two great passes and threw two touchdowns.
Q. Would you like to (indiscernible) the two quarterbacks?
TODD BOWLES: I don't know yet.
Q. (Inaudible) what he was saying about that. That was his first touchdown pass ever.
TODD BOWLES: Bucky, all you've got to do is throw it up to him like he's Wilt Chamberlain or somebody. He has great hands. He's a great competitor. And those are things that can develop and that may be another weapon for us out there.
Q. How about Emeka, anything in his first (indiscernible)?
TODD BOWLES: He plays like he practices. He practices like that. He plays like that. He's been that like since we drafted him. He's like that every day in practice and it just carries over for him.
Q. Couple of joint practices, few preseason games. What do you think of the progression? Do you see the development where you want to see it?
TODD BOWLES: Certain groups and certain guys, yes. As a team we've still got to bring the younger guys along with some experience. So from a first unit and some of the second unit standpoint you're seeing a lot of progression.
I would say the younger guys getting experience as they go. And we've just got to keep building this thing keep growing.
Q. You got three interceptions today. That's been a big thing, turnovers. What do you think of that?
TODD BOWLES: Turnovers win games. That last one got us the ball game. Obviously we stopped drives with the other two. We can't turn it over. That put them back in the ball game. Three interceptions two weeks in a row is a plus. We gotta keep getting them.
Q. (Inaudible) one thing that you're talking about but other than -- other than that, but what did you think of Tez tonight?
TODD BOWLES: I think it's a good learning experience for him as a rookie. You've got to take care of the ball and you gotta manage the game back there. That's one of the prime responsibilities of a punt returner. It's a very good lesson for him that he'll get better with going forward. I thought he played fast and ill thought he played hard.
Q. Without seeing the film on the (inaudible) first team, Bucky had 12 yards?
TODD BOWLES: They did a good job. That's a heck of a defensive front over there. They were like that in practice as well. We've got to find different ways of opening up the run game and moving the pile. And they did a good job. They did a good job stifling us.
Q. (Indiscernible) on the sidelines or does it not matter to you?
TODD BOWLES: I have to wait until I see him in the booth. I want him where he's comfortable. It matters where he's comfortable at.
Q. Is there a battle at the number two quarterback spot?
TODD BOWLES: I don't know yet. I've got to see the tape.
