Packers 33, Vikings 10
Q. How did you handle all of tonight? It was loud, a big game --
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, there's a lot of factors coming into it, but the whole team is focused on just making sure we get that win and moving on because we know exactly what's in front of us and we're trying to get in the playoffs. I don't think any of those things were too much for us, and we showed that tonight.
Q. Did you know before you took the field that Seattle had lost and you guys were in full control of your playoff destiny, or did you not know that?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, I saw that.
Q. Do you think most of the guys knew?
JORDAN LOVE: Yep. Yep.
Q. What was working so well out there? Things just seemed smooth from start to finish.
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, everybody was out there executing. We were moving the ball, getting into a rhythm. I was trying to get the ball out of my hand quick and get it to the playmakers and let those guys go make some moves in space. That's exactly what we were doing, and the run game was really great tonight. Aaron Jones, AJ, PT, those guys battled the whole time, O-line did great. I think everybody was just executing at a high level tonight.
Q. He missed the second half but what did it mean to get J-Reed back?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, it's huge. Obviously you see what he did. Two touchdowns. The second touchdown just catching the route, making some guys mis, taking it to the house. It's awesome. I'm proud of him, just the way he's competing, battling, and growing every week. It's awesome when you can get him out there and get him the ball.
Q. What can you say about the job Bo has done the last two games?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, he's stepped up huge. I talked about it all the time. He's always the next man up mentality, and Bo has been a guy who's been working every week, even when he's not been in the role. He's working on scout team, trying to find ways to get better, and it's not a surprise to anybody why he goes out there and does what he does. He did a lot of good things, but same with the other guys. We had a lot of receivers that stepped up, got a couple guys injured, so like I said, it's just that next man up mentality, and guys are stepping in and taking advantage of the opportunity.
Q. Has he gotten more reps with you in the last two weeks in practice or are you still far behind in terms of your chemistry versus the other guys?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, he's gotten a lot more reps with Christian and Wicks being out. Yeah, he's been in that role. He's getting a lot more reps in practice, and we're getting on the same page with things.
Q. What's allowed you guys to be so successful? Aaron had Devonta over the years. You don't really have that but you've got a bunch of guys.
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, I think we've got a lot of playmakers. We can spread the ball to anybody out there. I think at any point, anybody can get the ball, and we've got a really unselfish receiver, tight end, running back room. Everybody wants to see everybody else succeed, so I think that's the awesome part about it.
Yeah, we've got playmakers everywhere.
Q. Is that almost an advantage in a way?
JORDAN LOVE: I think so.
Q. How so?
JORDAN LOVE: I think it gives you an opportunity to spread the ball around, put different guys in different situations, and keep the defense on their toes on exactly who they want to try and focus on, things like that. I definitely think it is.
Q. I know the work is not done, but to be in the position you're in going into the last game, a first-year starter, you've got all these young guys everywhere on your offense, youngest roster in the league to start the year, what does it mean to have put yourselves in this position to go on to next week and have a shot?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, it means a lot. This is exactly the situation we've been working for all off-season, all through training camp, to get ready to put ourselves in a position to make the playoffs.
Like I said, it hasn't been easy all year. There's been a lot of highs and lows, a lot of adversity, and we didn't know what to expect coming into the year. We didn't have any expectations, so I think everybody has just continued to work, continued to find ways to get better, and we're controlling our destiny right now, so I'm excited to go handle business next week.
Q. You said during training camp the sky's the limit for this group. What did you see early on that you thought maybe this was possible that you guys were kind of coming together?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, I think even though we had a lot of young guys coming into the start of the season, you could just see how many playmakers we had on offense, how deep our skill positions were, and I was excited about it.
That's exactly why I said the sky's the limit. We had no expectations, and just continue to -- I think the main thing, we just continued to work every day, find ways to improve and get better.
Q. How good of a rhythm are you and Matt in right now? Do you feel like you're in a much better place than you were when you guys were feeling yourselves out early in the year?
JORDAN LOVE: A hundred percent. I think that's another thing, that our connection has been growing, just getting on the same page with exactly what we like, and I think Matt has been doing an awesome job with mixing up the play calls and putting different guys in positions to be successful.
Yeah, I think now we're in a really good rhythm, so excited to see what we can keep doing.
Q. (Indiscernible) how long does that bother you before you shake it off?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, those plays, they sting for a little bit. You go to the sideline and think about it and just think about what you could have did better. But that's exactly what it is. I go to the sideline and I just think to myself, all right, move on to the next play, don't let it linger in your mind, but just understand how I can get better.
I missed the one to Bo, missed the one to Malik, so we had a couple touchdowns that we left out there, but that's always the mindset, next play, move on. You can't change the past.
Q. It looks like (indiscernible) always been that play or how do you get to the point where, okay, a bad play, you go back to business?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, I think that's something I've grown into and just learned over the course of my career. Just sitting there and overthinking all the little mistakes you made and thinking about old plays, none of that helps you moving forward. I've had people that have helped me with that process of just understanding what I need to do. If you make a mistake, don't make the throw, just move on. It's an imperfect game, and Matt preaches all the time moving on to the next play.
Q. What did you see on the first touchdown?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, they kind of disguised it, went to a cover-two-ish coverage and we had four verts on, and I knew I was going to have J-Reed right there. Kind of didn't see him at first where he was at, and then he came into my vision, so just let it out there, let him go get it. It was an awesome play.
Q. What was the locker room like when you finally got in there?
JORDAN LOVE: It was awesome. Everybody is enjoying this victory right now. But it's awesome in the locker room. But at the same time, everyone in there is focused on what we've got in front of us.
Q. (Indiscernible). What's the mentality and the mindset?
JORDAN LOVE: Yeah, the mindset is go win. We know exactly what we have to do. Got to go win next week at home. But yeah, everyone I think remembers last year. A lot of the guys were on the team. We know exactly how it went down and how kind of sick that taste was losing that game and not making it to the playoffs.
I think a lot of guys in that locker room remember that, but at the same time, it's a new year, so we've got that mentality that we've just got to go win, go handle business next week, but we've had the mentality that every game so far has been a playoff game. It's a win-and-advance mentality, so we know what we've got to do.
