DAVID RILEY: You know, this is a team that we've got that's going to be really good, and I don't know if it's going to be three weeks from now or if it's going to be tomorrow that we kind of turn that corner.

I thought we definitely made improvements. I thought our guys showed spirit for 40 minutes and were competitive and played a little bit looser than we had. The mistakes we made were aggressive. The reality is you can't give up 100 points and win too many ballgames, and we've got to figure that side out a little bit more.

Also had an incredible performance from a freshman that is something that I haven't seen someone take this and have the trajectory that's been as good as his, and he's done a great job, as well.

Q. Ace, it was a tough game, but you were performing, and I saw you and Odum going back -- what was it like to be on the court and performing on that stage?

ACE GLASS: I feel like we had a mutual respect. It started from the first play of the game. I tried to get in him, make sure he felt me the whole game. We just talked at the end and it was all love. We're both good players and respect each other.

Q. Ace, you broke the WSU freshman scoring record out there. What were you seeing that was working for you and how were you getting those looks thanks to your teammates?

ACE GLASS: Yeah, thanks to my teammates for sure. Ri keeping the floor empty and ND setting super high screens, taking his guy, rolling them in and just getting me open shots and letting the rest just take care of itself.

Q. I asked Coach Hurley about this. I asked if it felt like an old Pac-12 matchup. What is it like to be in the moment and kind of having in some ways the band back together and to kind of have that competitive energy going?

DAVID RILEY: You know, for me personally, this whole thing is kind of a new experience in playing in the Maui Invitational. I wasn't coaching when we were in the Pac-12 but there's a lot of familiarity there. Watched Coach Hurley's teams a lot, played against Moe Odum and Trouet last year at their respective schools. It was just a fun game. Like from the jump those guys were getting into it. It was a 10-0 run, 9-0 run, back and forth all game.

It's why I love coaching and being a part of this game.

Q. How do you feel about the way that you guys shot the ball tonight? Both teams were really shooting the gym off tonight and Coach Hurley really made an emphasis on how you guys shot the ball. How did you feel about the way your offense moved?

DAVID RILEY: I think it was nice to see our guys just kind of play a little freer. We have a great shooting team. We have a lot of guys that knock down shots. Obviously Ace had a hell of a night; 6 for 9 from three will help those percentages.

But when we're playing confident like that and playing aggressive, the first play of the game, came off a ball screen. EY popped it. Had his feet set. Knocked that thing down. Compare that to yesterday where we had a 3 on 2 and Thomas had a corner shot and we passed it up and we were hesitant, and just going and playing aggressive like that is how we need to play.
