Michigan State 31, Pittsburgh 21
THE MODERATOR: We are joined by Marcus Minor.
Questions.
Q. When Nick went down after the touchdown, the offensive line going into the next drive with Davis, you said before it doesn't matter who is back there, but what was the mentality?
MARCUS MINOR: When it came down to it, we knew we had to hold up a little bit more. We just had to be better. To have the time to read faster, get things he needed to get done.
We just knew it was still going to be on our shoulders.
Q. You allowed five sacks in this game. It seemed uncharacteristic. What did Michigan State do to confuse you or to get after you that might have caught you a bit off guard?
MARCUS MINOR: They're a good team. They're just as good. They're a top-10 team in the country. Everybody is going to have their good days and their bad days. They just happened to have a good situation for today.
We'll be better next year.
Q. What can you say about Davis Beville stepping up? What can you say about his leadership stepping in as a third string quarterback, giving you every opportunity to win the game?
MARCUS MINOR: He put it on his shoulders. He was a leader throughout the whole time. We needed to be better for him. But he was able to work with us. We communicated on and off the sidelines.
I'm proud of him, his standpoint, and I am happy we were able to have him.
