Quick Quotes

Q. Talk about making the cut and getting off the course today.

SEPP STRAKA: Thank you. It was pretty tough out there.

Q. I couldn't see 18 because I came up here. You're low Bulldog, for what that's worth, and you are still, even with a bogey there --

SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, bogey.

Q. 18 has been brutal today. What can you tell me about that?

SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, the whole course was brutal. I was kind of in between a 5- and a 6-iron is not really great when you find yourself in between those clubs going into 18. Tried to hit the 6, and it hit the very top edge. If it was a foot further right or a foot longer, it probably would have been great. But just went in the bunker, then hit a bit of a poor bunker shot to about 10 feet and the putt was almost unmakeable with the wind whipping around the green. Especially downhill, I just barely could tap it, and it was just about unmakeable. Yeah, those things are going to happen out there, but overall I'm really happy with the round.

Q. Have you ever played in this type of conditions anywhere in your career?

SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, it's pretty rare, especially at a course like this where the sections are so small and the greens are so fast. You just have to be really precise and wait on a good wind and hope you didn't get gusted. It was a little bit of luck involved, as well. Yeah, it just played brutal.

Q. What are your thoughts going into the weekend?

SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, a bit of a bonus to make the cut and it looks like the weekend the weather is going to be perfect. Really looking forward to two days of good weather on this golf course. This is one of my favorites in the world and probably my favorite one in the world. Yeah, it's just a special treat.
