Jaguars 25, Bills 20
VON MILLER: Like I said on Wednesday practicing in Buffalo it just felt good to be back into motion. Just it's a great starting point for me and I can build on that for sure.
Q. What's it like when you see Matt go down, such an important piece?
VON MILLER: Yeah, it was tough. It was tough. I saw him in the blue tent. I was trying to check him out, look in there and see if it was just minor. That's and prayers go to Matt Milano for sure.
Q. What does it say -- physically, how do you feel?
VON MILLER: I feel good. Just dipping my toe in the water, you know, and eventually, I'll be able to swim in the deep end with the big kids. But it felt good just being out there with my guys and being back in the motions is definitely something I can build on for sure.
Q. Were you give us a specific number of plays today?
VON MILLER: I wasn't sure, but I played a couple plays and I was done. It was smart, too. I got enough reps in to build on that and get ready for the Giants next week.
Q. You just missed your chance -- I believe it was your first night -- how did you find it, regardless of the game?
VON MILLER: I love coming here. In 2017, I spent like six weeks here all over the country. You know, I love it here. Been to some soccer games, and it was great to play in Tottenham Stadium in front of Englishmen. It was a great atmosphere, not the result we wanted but a great atmosphere and great day for football. I'm appreciative.
Q. In the last two weeks, you've lost Tre, Matt and DaQuan potentially for a long time each. How does the defense overcome that?
VON MILLER: You just keep playing. We got a lot of depth on this team. We've done a good job of really building the team up with quality players. You can't replace DaQuan. You can't replace Matt Milano. You can't replace Tre White. That's just part of the game.
It's a terrible part of the game, you know to get injuries and especially serious injuries. You've just got to keep moving. I know it sounds cliché but it's really the only thing that I can do. It's going to suck losing those guys but we've got to keep taking one step at a time.
Q. What did you see from AJ out there?
VON MILLER: AJ went crazy. He went crazy the last game before versus the Dolphins. Definitely not surprised. We see it every day in practice. He's an incredible player. I'm definitely not satisfied, either. He has a lot more to go. He has a lot more big-time plays to show everybody.
But everything that he's done in the game, we've seen in practice. He's an incredible player, big-time defensive end for sure.
Q. You say you're not surprised. What are some of the things he does enabling him to have these games?
VON MILLER: He practices hard. He's got a basketball background. So he's able to knock down passes, he's able to track the balls super easy. He's just a big-time player. He's an incredible defensive end.
And I think all the physical attributes are just regular things. I think his intelligence really stands out for me. He's so smart. He's so intelligent. He knows rush moves. He knows rush angles. He definitely knows how to play football. He's a big-time defensive end for sure.
Q. In the end, did you feel like a team with the defense overall?
VON MILLER: We are built for games like this. We practice hard. We condition hard as well. Just slipped away from us.
Q. Do you think you could have had an effect on the game without the pitch count? You didn't play in the fourth quarter, I don't think, and defense struggled on third down.
VON MILLER: As a competitor, I always I feel like I can do more, but it was just the smart call. I just dipped my toe in there and was able to swim, and eventually I'll be able to swim with the big kids in the deep end for sure.
Q. What can we expect from you this season? Can you be the spark to this defense?
VON MILLER: If you're asking me, 100 percent, that's what I've been doing my whole entire career. This is just a starting point. I felt good going out there. I definitely felt like I could have did more.
Definitely felt like I wasn't all the way there yet but I feel like it was a great starting point for me, and I just continue to build, and most likely definitely I'll be able to be the player that I've been in the past for sure.
Q. Did you speak to -- (no mic).
VON MILLER: Yeah, I did. It was tough. After losses, especially, your buddy like that but that's the right thing to do is go over there and talk to my guy. I wanted to run in and not say nothing but that's my brother.
No matter how much it sucked, family first and we have a really, really long history and had to go over there and chop it up with him. He gave me a kiss on the cheek. We had switched jerseys. He gave me a kiss on the cheek which is a little bit -- it rubbed it in a little bit but it's all good. That's my guy, and we'll definitely see those guys again in the future for sure.
Q. What do you think of the Bills Mafia?
VON MILLER: Bills Mafia is incredible. Doesn't matter if it's the United States or London. Even if we played in Madagascar, I feel like we would have had that type of crowd for sure. Bills Mafia, we travel well and we have incredible fans and it was definitely refreshing to see so many bills Mafia fans here today.
Thanks, guys, appreciate you.
