Q. D.J., you've been waiting for this, haven't you?

D.J. WONNUM: What? Yeah, I've been waiting all right.

Q. I know we talked earlier, but have you been able to process this at all?

D.J. WONNUM: Nah. Not yet. It's a lot going on right now. But obviously it felt good getting back on the field today, playing with the guys, playing with Josey, playing with our other guys. I haven't processed it yet but I'm sure it will hit me as soon as we get on the plane.

Q. The first sack, seemed like the entire defense erupted to see you get that; the support you were getting from your teammates, how special is that?

D.J. WONNUM: Oh, man, really special. I think I celebrated literally everybody, offense and defense all the coaches. Just knowing those guys, they have been there and seen me come into the locker room every day and how hard I work.

So it's just amazing seeing those guys come cheer me on.

Q. How did you prepare yourself to pick up where you left off?

D.J. WONNUM: Really just the training staff. They got me prepared for everything that I was going to have to do to stay in the game today. A lot of hard work.

Q. A Shaun said that this defense was just beginning to learn each other and learn what it was capable of. As you look at this thing coming in now what does it look like? What do the next steps look like?

D.J. WONNUM: We've got the guys, obviously. We've just got to keep going. We've got players that can make big plays. Obviously we've seen that today. We've just got to keep growing closer, keep continuing to be together and you know what I'm saying, the sky is the limit for us.

Q. When you have a great game like you did today, and you have the bye next week, and you like having the bye and the rest but it's an inconvenient time for yourself. Would you rather go straight into a game or would you rather have the rest?

D.J. WONNUM: No, that bye week is going to feel good. My body, I feel it right now, you know what I'm saying. Having that bye week is going to feel good for me.

Q. What are you looking forward the rest of the season once you guys get back to the states?

D.J. WONNUM: Just for us to continue doing what we're doing, you know what I'm saying. We're on a winning streak and we can keep going. We've got the guys. We've got the players. Keep putting the work in and keep growing closer, like I said, and the sky is the limit for us.

Q. Jonathan Brooks is taking a long time to recover, similar to your timeline. What advice would you give him?

D.J. WONNUM: Really just patience, you know what I'm saying. He's young. We've got some good backs in the backfield but just patience, dog. Your time is going to come when it supposed to come. Just be ready.
