Orlando City 4, Toronto FC 0
Q. There are no good ways to be eliminated from playoff contention but that seemed to be a somewhat flat performance from the team tonight. What did you think?
BOB BRADLEY: I thought we started a little bit slow and then the first time that they get anywhere near our box, it's a goal.
So we're down, and actually felt we pick up the tempo a little bit, get into the box in a moment where maybe we could do more. And then when the ball turns over, we got some guys in bad position on the second goal. And then the one pass beats the line on the defenders and we are not able to make the save.
Halftime is just about making sure that we have a group that on the night can keep going physically and mentally, seeing if we can get back into the game, and then we top it off with an in-goal. A lot of the work tonight is to keep everybody engaged in a real way. There are certain guys that you can always count on, they never stop trying to keep going, win balls, play forward but all in all, not good enough, and a really bad night, and obviously as you started out saying, with everything, all the challenges of the year, we kept trying to see if we could find something at the end to keep going, and that's what we talked about before the game but we weren't able to do it.
Q. A few weeks ago, you were hoping to go on a charge, a run, get as many points as you can and instead you've lost three straight. What's happened in this stretch overall? Is there one thing in particular that put you guys back?
BOB BRADLEY: We hurt ourselves with many mistakes. You start a game and you constantly feel like any time they get near your goal, you're behind. Tonight is a night where believe it or not they don't really have that many chances. It's not like it's a night where we are just over-run. But when you hurt yourself over and over in the same ways in the latter part of the year when we thought we could put together a run, I would say mistakes, and also just the fact that it's been so difficult to keep a consistent team on the field.
Q. Oso coming in in the 71st minute, I know it was a start cameo and he's been out of action for a while. Was that the plan, to get him in at some point in the game, that late?
BOB BRADLEY: We are just trying to help Oso. I'm not going to details. I know he said a little bit. We have conversations with him every day to try to help him, support him, and the idea was that a few minutes tonight might help in terms of moving him forward.
Q. What questions are you asking yourself after that match? What answers do you need from the guys?
BOB BRADLEY: After tonight?
Q. After tonight. After the last couple weeks in general.
BOB BRADLEY: It's easy to see that we are still -- we make mistakes in key parts of the field. You know, in the stretch in this last period, we've talked about our goalkeeping. It hasn't been as good as it needs to be if you're going to make a real run, and then the number of guys that you can count on every game that keep up with the game, make the right choices, make the right play, compete at the highest level. We still need to add to the group.
Q. Probably sounds like a dumb question but do you have any particular way you're going to approach the last two games of the season?
BOB BRADLEY: Yeah, we are going to train and try to play two good games. Try to use every opportunity, every training session, every game to move this thing along. I've spoken the last few weeks about the work to get this thing to where we want it to be, where it can be, where it will be. The building of a team, as I said, doesn't start at the beginning and then end at some point in the season or after the season. It keeps going. It tells you something about players. And look, there are certain guys that you see what they try to do for the team every game. Those guys are going to be important not only to see if we can play two games but many of those guys are going to be the ones that we try to build things around as we move forward.
