Justin Strnad

Visitors Postgame Press Conference

Broncos 21, Jaguars 17

Q. How big was it to get this win, especially going into a bye week?

JUSTIN STRNAD: Yeah, it was huge. Heading into the bye we are getting some guys back, guys that are banged up halfway point of the season, and it's going to be huge for us. Everyone talks about how wins are momentum builders, and for heading into the bye this was a huge one. We talked about how this is a must-win for us, and how we got the win.

For us moving forward, it's building on this, getting some guys back healthy, and continuing to find ways to win the second half of the season.

Q. Justin, the interception take me through that play.

JUSTIN STRNAD: Yeah, obviously they were driving there, and for me, just thinking about we kind of -- they played really well, but we also gave them some of the yards. I know I had that taunting. We had -- I think, they gave Pat that holding PI call. I don't know what it was. We got another holding on our side, on the left side of the defense.

You know, saw him rolling out. I'm just hoping there's a chance I can maybe bat the ball. A guy gets their hand on it. Really he when plays like that happen, it's a nod to the whole defense; guys are doing their job. He's holding the ball. He's trying to make something happen. There's a momentum swing. They can go up 14-0.

He felt the pressure with the boot and guys were sticking in coverage and there was just an opportunity to make a play on the ball. It's really hats off to all 11 guys that were in on that play. It doesn't happen without all those guys doing their job.

Q. Are you looking forward to the bye or would you rather jump right back in?

JUSTIN STRNAD: That's a good question. A little bit of both. Obviously when you have a momentum like this, you win, you're feeling good, you head into practices with confidence, you head into the game plan with confidence, and the thing I like most about this game was it was a complete team effort. I thought special teams did a heck of a job all day tackling in space.

There was that stretch there where 14-10, offense stalling a little bit, defense was able to get some stops and we just kept going back and forth. Unfortunately they went down and scored. They went up but then offense answered right back. We went back up, and then defense you have to go out there, get a big time stop. K'Waun first play, pick. That's what good football teams do. They find ways to win games. That's what I'm the most proud of.

And so kind of went on a tangent there and didn't really answer your question, but I think the bye is going to be good to get some guys back.

Q. There have been guys who took it hard. You took it hard. How exciting is this?

JUSTIN STRNAD: Yeah, it's huge. I told them last time, this is my seventh season. 9-7 is the best I've been, no playoff berths.

I wouldn't say I hurt more than anyone else, but it hurts not to find ways to win. Obviously a lot of expectations, but the season is not over, as well. You know what? Raw emotions after a game happen. 24-hour rule. You throw that away, you move on, and I'm just proud of the guys. Coaches, players, the way we rally together as a team.

Like Russ said, I think the whole team showed up Tuesday night. It wasn't mandatory, like the dinner we had, and that just shows guys care, and that goes a long way.

I'm proud of this team, man. I'm proud of the way we battled. We're going to have to find ways to continue to do that and find ways to win the rest of the year.

Q. Justin, (indiscernible) interceptions is a hard thing to do. With K'Waun, this thing he has on his arm, he's able to be out there and do, including coming up with a game-sealing interception.

JUSTIN STRNAD: Yeah, K is a baller. It's funny, because he told us earlier. I don't even remember what quarter it was, but they ran that out route and he had a big pass breakup on 1st down. I don't know if was the same exact play, but they ran it and we came to the sideline and he says, dog, they throw that again I'm going to pick it. A lot of us say that throughout the game.

But it was cool because it happened again. I don't know how many times it happened before he picked it, but he picked it when it mattered.

That's just kudos to him. Film study, the preparation, trusting your guys. I just think he did such a great job making that read. That was obviously a big-time play. It won us the game, and offense was able to close it out. Complete team effort there.

Man, it was a heck of a way to end it.

Q. What did you make of the London experience as a whole?

JUSTIN STRNAD: Yeah, London was cool, man. For me, I relish moments like this for two reasons. One, I just take it in and I just am so thankful where football has just placed just me personally in my life -- like I'm able to travel to London for work and literally experience a different culture, different lifestyle, all while building the second part, camaraderie with my team.

I'm able to hang out with different guys during the week. We're going to grab something to eat. We're trying to learn the lingo. We joke about it a lot.

I think those are the things that I won't take for granted. When I'm done playing years down the road, those are the things that I'll remember. Obviously I'll remember we won. That was great. But those are the things that I'll remember.

I'm just so thankful for God and just the opportunity to be able to do things like this.

Q. Your baby boy is due in a matter of days, weeks. How nice is it that your wife was able to keep him cooking and how excited are you for what very easily could happen while you're on the bye week?

JUSTIN STRNAD: Yeah, no, she's the real MVP. Holding down the fort, that's not easy. I know we're here to talk about football, but while we're on the subject of my wife, two daughters, 4 and 1, and then days away, maybe a week away from having our son, our first son.

Her holding down the fort, man, and like I said, if she were to have had our boy throughout this week, I'm going home. I'm not missing my first son's birth.

Just so thankful for her, man, and the people around us that have helped us and helped keep her off her feet. It's just a blessing. I can't wait for that. It's going to be such an exciting moment for us and our family, and I love you, Tarin (phonetic).
