Jacksonville Jaguars 48, New York Jets 20
Q. Hey, Travis. Three catches, three touchdowns for you. Have you ever had a game like that where you caught three receiving touchdowns?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: No, this is the first time in my career, honestly. But I've been ready for it. Just throw the ball my way. I'm going to go out there and get it, but, no. Just grateful. I feel like Coach had a great game plan. He schemes things up and when my number was called, I went down there and made the plays.
Q. He do you feel like you've evolved in this offense, just in terms of being able to run the football, catch screens, do different things. How much have you sort of grown in it?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: I feel like I've grown a lot, but I feel like I've always been able to a catch balls. I've been great in the screen game. I feel like Coach does a great job of calling the plays, you know, and put us in a position to make plays. I feel like Coach has a great understanding that it's player and not plays and he goes out there and puts us in a position to make plays. I'm just grateful that he's coaching our OCs and I got the rewards from that, for real.
Q. Travis, what did you see out of Trevor today?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: Just confidence, man. Confidence. I feel like Travis just continues to grow, continues to get better. Just the confidence, the swagger he's playing with. He's locked in. He's commanding the field. He's commanding the offense. As long as he keeps doing that, the sky's the limit for us.
Q. Do you feel like the offense is kind of finding its stride, that groove at this point?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: For sure. I feel like we're kicking on all cylinders. I feel like we're not beating ourselves like we were so many times early in the season. We're staying above the chains. We're just locked in.
I feel like we're executing, making the plays when we need to make them and those third downs, Trev kept making huge plays for us and he's dialing things up and I feel like it's just great to see.
We've got so many play-makers. Just everybody is coming together as one and I feel like as long as we all do our job, 11 working as one, sky's the limit for us.
Q. Back in '22 Trevor got hot in the second half of the year. Does this kind of feel similar to that a little bit? I know different plays, different games and stuff but just him starting to get on a roll at the most important times, it feel similar?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: No, not at all. I don't think I've ever seen Trev like this. I feel like -- we won a national championship together and I feel like he's just out there on fire, man. He rolled out again and he just kind of stopped and just, Parker's down there somewhere, you know? (Laughter) He launched it and Parker made a great catch.
I'm just grateful I'm on his team and the growth that I've seen from him is just unbelievable. It forces everybody else to step up their game as well.
Q. Travis, a lot was made when Liam came over from Tampa about who's going to be the Bucky Irving in this offense. I think a lot of folks nationally maybe underestimated your pass-catching ability. How have you seen it grow under Liam's tutelage. You keep referencing that he put you in a position to succeed. Why are his plays putting you in that position to reach a new ceiling?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: My hands have always been good. We're not going to start that. (Laughter) These hands always been like that.
Q. I ain't questioning that, that's for sure. I got you. I got you.
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: No, Coach, he's just got the confidence to go out there and call the plays, you know? I feel like I've been working in the shadows, at practice catching balls and doing it in practice over and over again but Coach has the confidence to go out there and call it. I feel like that's the difference. He calls the plays. He calls the plays. He wants to score a touchdown, he gets the ball in the play-maker's hands.
He just has confidence in us. He sees it day in and day out and him calling the plays gives him a chance to go out there and make those plays. Trev dialing up and throwing it. I'm just grateful I'm on the receiving end of that.
Q. It's taken a little while for the screen game to really evolve. Can you put your finger on why it took so long and why it's working now?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: You got to understand, defense is not just going to let me go out there and do whatever. I feel like they got a (indiscernible) so when you're developing the screen, you have the backer always on you, it's kind of hard to get those things going. With everybody else coming alive, things coming alive. Trev dotting people up. Now you got other things to worry about.
I feel like that's really working in my favor and I feel like if Trev keeps doing what he do, makes may job a lot easier and we just compliment each other.
Q. Cool threads, is that Charlie on your chest?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: Probably I have no idea who this is on my chest. (Laughter) It's just a cool shirt.
Q. A couple questions here for you. Last time you were involved in a game in which you guys on offense scored 50 points you have to go back to Clemson against Pittsburgh. Scoring eight times in nine possessions. Talk about what that felt like today out there?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: I just felt like we were kicking on all cylinders but I feel like it goes to the mindset that Coach established. I feel like we're locked in throughout the whole game. We went up a few touchdowns, we're still locked in as if the score is 0-0. We're going out there making the play when the play is called. We're just taking it one play at a time.
This is the true group I feel like we're locked in. The whole game, just locked in the moment. We're not worried about the outcome or what's going to happen. When you're able to be present in the moment, you're able to have things like that happen.
Q. Secondly, a most of this has happened since you're gotten Jakobi from Vegas. Just, like, he's the go-to guy receiver-wise. You throw it in his area he catches it. How infectious is that among other people coming out of the back field yourself or other receivers just throw me the ball and I'll catch it?
TRAVIS ETIENNE JR.: It's very infectious. After I taught the first touchdown, I kind of came to the sideline and said I feel like Jakobi Meyers. When you got a guy like that just catching everything, I can't be the one go out there and drop my little one pass, you know?
I feel like it just elevates everybody else's game around you and around him. I feel like he made us all so much better. I feel like he's always making plays. He's always catching the ball, locking it up. He's always doing the right thing. He's always in the right place at the right time. That forces guys to be better, you know? He's kind of setting the standard. He came and set the standard and I feel like it raises everybody else's level of play up. Just very grateful he's on my team.
