Q. You’ve won in Saudi before, so how does it feel to come back? Any differences this time?
HAROLD VARNER: Although didn’t win on this course, it’s pretty cool to be back. Good memories. I’m just excited to get going. The place is in great shape.
Q. How are the conditions out there?
HAROLD VARNER: Unbelievable. It’s so much improved since we played the tournament here and then the LIV event. Super exciting. I’m sure everyone else is excited too. It’s clearly taken a lot of hard work to get it to this level.
Q. What’s your mentality coming into this week?
HAROLD VARNER: Hit a lot of good shots, hole a couple putts, and see where that puts me. Keep it simple. It’s golf—no need to overcomplicate it. I’m not doing that for anyone.
Q. LIV Golf will probably be back here next year. Do you see this as preparation?
HAROLD VARNER: Yeah, it’ll be here, and yeah, I look at it as good preparation. But also, if you play well this week, you can really help yourself. So it’s a win-win.
